The Supreme Court has ruled in favour of the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Justice Walter Onnoghen, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, headed the panel that sacked Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and ultimately returned peace to the PDP. Other Judges on the panel are Justice Tanko Muhammad, Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, Justice Kayode Ariwoola and Justice Dattijo Muhammad.
