Kn23h, my warmest appreciation goes to you! cheesy When you started this thread, it was like a joke - a little battle of wits to put some braggarts in their place. But it has grown in leaps and bounds. It surpassed my expectations. When I started contributing to the discourse, it was just a nice way to pass the time. But then the stories of the founders and entrepreneurs inspired me. wink

Along the line, I stumbled on a few companies whose services caught my attention, and I thought I should probably find out if I could offer some of my products and services to them. I contacted 11 of them, 6 responded, and at the tail end of last year, I made good progress with 4 already. When Mosunmola Abudu of Ebony Life TV & EbonyLife Films teamed up with FilmOne Distribution, Inkblot Productions and Koga Studios to produce The Wedding Party, in 2016, she had no idea that it would be so successful at the box office, in Nigeria. To crown it all, the leading actors on that film, took their fairytale of love from the screen into real life, by having a lavish wedding that trended for weeks! cheesy

Now she has raised the bar higher with the sequel, titled "Wedding Party 2." And this time around, the sequel appears set to break the records of its predecessor. In just a few weeks, it has raked in well over 300 million naira. This hardworking lady deserves an applause. It does look as if she has been gifted with the Midas touch, don't you all think so?

The fact that this thread is still kept on frontpage confirms that yoruba ego needs massage.

I led the squad here that demolished yorubats many months ago and Nigerians know that the igbos lead in technology and industries. Yolibats excel in talking professions like law, journalism, activism, and the like.

No matter how long this thread is kept on frontpage, Nigerians know the truth that Igbos are technically ahead in industralization.

HONEYWELL FLOUR MILLS POSTS N53.27BN REVENUE

Honeywell Flour Mills Plc. has released its audited financial results for the full year ended 31st March, 2017.

The Company recorded a remarkable 191 percent increase in gross profit from N4.36 billion to N12.71 billion in the financial year under review. It also grew total revenue from N50.88 billion in 2016 to N53.23 billion in 2017, representing a 5 percent increase year-on-year. The Company achieved a 291 percent increase in profit before taxation, to N5.47 billion in 2017 from a loss position in 2016. Consequently, the Company declared a dividend of 6 Kobo per ordinary share to its shareholders at its just concluded 8th Annual General Meeting, held on Friday, 22nd September 2017.

Speaking during the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Chairman of the Company, Dr Oba Otudeko, said the Company’s current performance indicated a leap from the results of the financial year 2016. Dr Otudeko attributed the improved earnings and profits to the Company’s relentless focus on lower cost sourcing for raw materials and foreign exchange and increased efficiency in manufacturing. “In FY2017, we reaped the benefits of a well-executed input cost management strategy”, he added.

Speaking further, the Chairman said: “Our results show continued growth and a substantial step-up in profitability despite the volatile economic environment. It was achieved largely through improved efficiency. Our manufacturing function drove further efficiencies through continuous improvement projects that enhanced engineering and plant maintenance processes and ensured higher levels of production efficiency.”
Also speaking at the AGM, Managing Director of HFMP, Mr Lanre Jaiyeola, noted that the Company was making significant changes to its business in order to lay a better platform for the years ahead. “In FY2018 and on the heels of an improving economic environment, we expect to record further improvements in performance, reigniting our growth agenda and extracting increased efficiency and cost reduction through a recently launched company-wide transformation and continuous improvement programme.”, Jaiyeola said.

ELIZADE COMMENCES PRODUCTION OF JAC

Foremost automobile marketing company in Nigeria, Elizade Motors Nigeria Limited, has finally ventured into automobile manufacturing in Nigeria with the production of Chinese brand, JAC. Elizade is the authorised distributor of JAC Motors in Nigeria and is targeting to produce 15,000 vehicles annually, including, passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks.

The plant, which is currently operating on a single shift is a multi-brand plant where the company would also assemble the Toyota brand in Nigeria. In his remarks, the founder of Elizade Group, Chief Michael Ade Ojo, explained that the Group will produce the Toyota and JAC brands from the plant. According to him, “one side of the plant is for Toyota and the other is for JAC production,”Ade Ojo said. Describing Toyota as the elder brother of JAC in Nigeria, he said when you go round the assembly plant, you will be very impressed with what we have done. He disclosed that very soon, the company will also commence production of Toyota brand at the plant. “The Toyota SKD are yet to be here but in few months time, we shall commence production, very soon you will return to see the Toyota line.”

So being in Top richest is a measure of industralization. So how many Japanese and Germans are in the World's richest. This kind of reasoning betrays the depts to which many yorubas have sunk. Its a shame.

If you like, keep this page forever on front page. Nigerians know that the igbos have risen from the ruins of war and have surpassed yorubads in Education, human development, technology and securith. Politically, its a matter of time before the Igbos return to the centre and remain there permanently while the yolibats will return to regionalism for ever.

Yorubas built Nigeria's ICT and startup environment, that takes a lot of hardwork.
995 of tech hubs are in Yorubaland and are owned by Yorubas [i.e Andela, CChub, etc). These companies are recognized by Facebook and Google companies.
Yorubas own large corporation in millions and billions of naira: https://www.nairaland.com/3918290/yorubas-most-industriousrichest-educated-tribe
The richest Nigerian developers- mostly located in Lagos - are Yorubas
Yoruba politicians work hard to create investment friendly and industry friendly environment in their land
Check the first-accomplishments in Nigeria, Yorubas make up most of the list
Yoruba state/SW in generate contributes more than half of the country's non-oil revenue and IGR

All that takes a lot of hardwork, strategy and smarts.

The day Yorubas start making noise like Igbos is the day you'll know who the real hardworkers are.

If you're indeed Yoruba and you want to call your family lazy, you're free to do so. Your experience is your experience but data and economical relevance matters more.
