TWINS OF TORMENT
EPISODE 1
****************-*******-*
[center]Patients sat outside, waiting for the call of the
doctor. Some were asleep, while some were
awake looking impatient. Others just looked
unconcerned.
The smell of drugs filled the air of the clinic.
People with different categories of illness were
scattered everywhere. A man as thin as a
broomstick was being driven on a wheelchair by
two female nurses. He was coughing and spitting
out blood. The nurses looked angrilly at him and
then the fat one shouted with a baritone voice,

"No dey spit for clinic anyhow oga! Many people
can contact your disease that way!"

"Please sir, if you want to cough, kindly cover up
your mouth. Thanks for your understanding.
May God heal you soon"

The slim nurse advised the sick man, smiling.
He nodded and smiled back at her.

"You are very kind, my dear daughter. If i get
healed of this sickness, i will give you to my little
son for marriage."

"what?! baba, it has not gotten to that..."
The first nurse shouted surprising.

"Don't worry dear. You are very ki..."

Noises were heard behind the nurses. A woman
was heard screaming, she was in labour. The
slim nurse left the sick old man and smartly
went to attend to the labouring woman.
She approached the man carrying her,

"sir, please take it easy with her, we would take
care of her. NURSESS!"

Two female nurses came running with a trowley,
they carefully carried her and placed her on the
trowley. Then, she was driven smartly.
Looking at the worried man, the slim nurse
spoke,

"sir the doctor is not around, but we assure that
your wife will deliver safely"

"Please, let her deliver safely...please nurse
(holding the nurse on her skirt) do anything you
can to ensure that my wife and baby stays
alive...pl..please"

His breath were fast. His heartbeat was
becoming louder.

"Don't worry sir. Nothing bad would happen to
them"

She calmed the worried man.

"But ......"
Before he could say anything, she had already
reached the labour room.
No one knows if the woman would live....
