Government actually don't have real power (or ability) to ban foreign movie/music production in Nigeria. They may try, but they can only hurt their government in doing so.

Fact is, APC is a socialist cum communist party who think they can get everything done with silly regulations.

But the bigger fact is, Psquare (or anyone in Nollywood) can shoot their videos abroad and distribute it online without touching Nigeria physically, and the silly APC government will do ABSUTELY NOTHING about it.

These guys are just a bunch of clueless opportunists masqurading as leaders. The only language they seem to understand is dumb regulation and more dumb regulations.

APC don't know the meaning of incentives and inclusiveness.

Where that same Psquare goes abroad to shoot musical videos which will later become a hit and is played regularly on foreign music channels, the same useless idiots in the APC will come knocking at their door to pay tax.

These idiots only know how to encourage yam and cassava exports

After Kemi and Fashola's foolishness is yet to die down, Lai Mohammed decided to join the fools parade.

While Kemi wants to stop borrowing but can't and sees taxation levied on phantom millionaire beggars as a way to boost the treasury and with Fashola lobbying on behalf of DISCOs to increase tarrifs while blaming Jonathan for his failure, Lai Mohammed came out to threaten a blanket ban on foreign content in Nigeria's entertainment industry without specifying how he or the useless APC led FG will be able to prevent Nigerian artistes and movie industry in going abroad to shoot music videos or movies.

The Nigerian entertainment industry is the most organic sector of our economy, one which was developed from scratch and fine tuned mainly from local talent with little or no govt subsidy. If there ever was a deregulated and fully self sustaining functioning sector in our economy, it has to be the entertainment industry.

And being true to its organic roots, the entertainment sector deprived of govt subsidy has shown how big govt participation is not a recipe for an industry to thrive. This is a sector which has since gone global and which now considers the outside world as it's primary target audience. A sector that has empowered many young people in so many far more better ways than the myopic APC govt can ever think of. Naturally, the Nigerian entertainment industry should be the sector the clueless buffons manning our economy ought to consult and encourage as they have shown the way towards self employment, empowerment and economic diversification. The sector is who that Idiot Kemi is supposed to encourage growth and not going after millioniare beggers who exist only in her vapid empty brain.

While Kemi's gross mishandling and disgrace of her current ministerial portfolio can be excused due to her retardation , what do we have to say motivated that blatant lousy liar, Lai Mohammed when he declared his intention to ban foreign content in the entertainment industry? It is almost as if Lai Mohammed wants to kill the sector and extend Buhari's unemployment policy to the only thriving sector of our economy.

For the likes of Lai Mohammed to bring his foolishness to the sector by declaring his ministry's intention of banning shooting of music videos or Nollywood films abroad smacks of gross stupidity, hypocrisy and a rare form of extreme bad belle.

The other day, one of Buhari's useless media aides was boasting of Yam exports as an achievement since they expect us to go back to the farm and labor for them to help stock up the National treasury with dollars for them to steal. The price of garri has astronomically risen after they began selling Cassava to China to be used as an industrial input over there. These set of vile wicked old men have no clue on how to add value to anything rather they are willing to sell the furniture (and us included) to pay the rent.

Had Lai Mohammed done a passive research on the net contributions of the entertainment industry as per its contribution to our GDP, he would have known that this sector repatriates more funds back to Nigeria compared to the fractions spent overseas.

If Lai is to ban Nigerian entertainment industry from going abroad and limit them to North Korea hermit status will it be safe to also assume that Lai will also ban our artistes from honoring invitations and gigs from abroad? Or will he also ban the sale of Nigerian movies and music CDs also from being exported?

Lai mohammed should begin to learn how to imbibe the wisdom of thinking before one speaks because it is obvious this old fool, just like all the useless Buahri ministers seem not to have any grain of common sense!

Why limit foreign content to music artistes and nollywood producers?

The presidential jet that has a dedicated air force group commanded by a very senior Air force officer with both cabin and ground crew plus aircraft hangers and maintenance tools still go abroad to do routine C-checks.

This same air fleet has benefited immensely from foreign trainings and courses but they are still yet to be able to carry out routine maintenance on the presidential fleet rather they will all follow the aircraft to a foreign hanger abroad to collect DTA.

This is just one example of where lai mohammed can start the "change".

I won't even bother about that cadaver rotting away in a London hospice with 89 vultures standing by his side.

Or how about NNPC that has invested heavily in foreign training up to doctorate in some instances for her staff but with no single one of its staff involved in any of the stages of production in the oil industry?

Lai mohammed you remain a foul mouthed idiot

This is the kind of poor reasoning sequence that has defines the Buhari led administration that has made them kill everything they have touched ..,Now they have fixed their destructive eyes on our music industry which is currently our only creative /intellectual export, an industry that hard working Nigerian youths despite all the odds and zero support from govt either morally or "infrastructurally" , today these youths have taken that industry to international heights singlehandedly and now Lai Mohammed thinks it's time to tell them where to shoot videos grin cheesy..There are many ways Lai can support them instead of killing them with his short sighted approach, for one he could look into why people go out side to shoot musical videos some of which are

1: Lack of support infrastructure like electricity and security : To shoot a five mins video in Nigeria you will have to go about with giant generator mounted on the back of a truck you hired because of the lack of electricity and then you have pay policemen to secure the locations from hoodlums or area boys .

2. Lack of critical equipment: Many of the critical equipment needed to shoot a good movie are not available in country because the poor economy won't allow our film makers the financial opportunity or banking support to purchase these equipments ..Try going to a bank to look for a 60 million Narnia loan to purchase high tech film making equipment.

3.Some of our poorly thought out laws make shooting a video very cumbersome in Nigeria E.G Right now using a common flying camera or photo drone to get some aerial shots has become a difficult & cumbersome process where the film maker has to license the drone at 850k and still get security clearance from the office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja ..

4: Lack of critical manpower and cast ..:Due to the hardship many Nigerians are facing getting the proper cast for your musical video is not easy at it seems because many of the cast are expected to dress themselves up for a shoot which they can't afford and the music video director can't afford it either but in South AFRICA all the artiste needs to do is show up and and music video company would have organised everything from cast to set to costume ..

We could go on and on ...Mr Lai Mohammed should concentrate instead on improving the primary goals of governance which Infrastructure, Agriculture, Health , equity and security ...Has Mr Lai Mohammed even asked himself how he intends carry out his empty short sighted threat , is he going to stop a Wizkid who is more of an international artiste now from shooting his next video at some exotic location? How exactly is he going to do that ...This govt was a great mistake

Failure to move this thread to FP will leave out all doubts.

Another angle to this lai mohammed's latest foolishness to consider is if he can get his ban in effect on Nigerian artistes what will happen to foreign music and movies ?

Will lai also ban the airing, sale and viewing of foreign entertainment videos and movies?

When you appoint your workforce base on ethnic coloration and religion affiliation, then you end up like Nigeria. A big disgrace. I'm sorry to say this, in the next 5 decades, Nigerian will still continue in this poju poju play, until we begin to call a spade a spade.
When this current administration was busy appointing his kinsmen and loyalties to sensitives positions that required brains to run, a section of the country spoke out, but others called them names and labeled them wailers and cry babies. fast-ward to this day, everybody don turned wailers, cheesy except the dead conscience BMC crew of course. angry
Very soon, they will start taxing dead bodies to boost their revenue, since beggars are now taxable. With FG spreading her tentacles on the creative industry, who knows the next to follow, the software industry perhaps, undecided Nigeria might soon end up a hermit kingdom. #NorthKorea loading

This here is exactly the reason APC will be flushed out in 2019 and never win federal election again in Nigeria, until it realizes that it is immoral to leach on people's wealth in guise of taxation.

taxation without consultation is exploitation

The courts will be very active when that time comes as there will be many SAN wannabees taking the Nigerian govt to court on over whatever rubbish your APC govt rolls out.
