He is right actually

When you accumulate resources in Nigeria and the go to SA to expend these resources...for example, you will pay for operating licenses, locations, houses equipments, hotel accomodations plus feeding and also pay video vixens and other related workers...by so doing, you are boosting the Economy of SA. You now take your finished product back to Nigeria for consumption... then later take the money again and off to SA or Ghana or Kenya and do same all over... You cant do this in the Europe or US. You have to pay much back in terms of charges and taxes.

This man is trying to safe the youths who are jobless but unfortunately the youths are the one castigating his actions...

Such unserious elements are so rampant in this generation...

Is just as saying u should stop patronising foreign goods or materials. Let them amend or enact a law to stop anybody from seeking medical care, schooling abroad or buying foreign goods.

Aside from the hatred for anything Apc and Lai Mohammed, we should learn to articulate our opinions reasonably and rationally devoided of impulsive tirades.
We have to emancipate ourselves from the mental slavery of saying , "if something doesnt change what We can change mustnt change too."
76 (a movie that grossed N600m) the movies that won the most awards at the just concluded AMA was shoot in Nigeria....precisely Ibadan. And to be accurate , mostly in Mokola Military Barrack.
A creative director can shoot his movie anywhere . All he has to do his recreate the setting to fit the real setting. Doing this is largely cheaper. We all saw Marvel's "Civil War The Avengers " The Lagos scene was not shot in Lagos . Why didnt they come to Lagos to shot? Because theyll have to spend more to move the actors, pay our govt and lets not forget the Area boys. Shuga and Jenifa's Diary were all shot in lagos . We have very lovely locations in Nigeria , after all , its a Nigerian story we are telling.
If we dont start to grow our own industry and we are waiting for one Mallam Buhari or Akpabio to go to Luth or UCH and treat his ailment before we grow our local content, that may never happen.
Even Ghana is milking us, because of What?!
The Govt should just create more support and security and watch people take the challenge.
This policy is all inclusive with gurus in the entertainment industry making contributions. Its not an imposition policy that will be inimical to Nigerian entertainers

However, there are certain instance where the location of the movie may not be a nigerian one and you need foriegn location...that case is understandable

How can these morons take the moral high ground on this subject when the president of the country has been outside the shores of Nigeria for like forever enjoying world class health facilities in the UK. How can that incorrigible liar make bold to state such a claim with no indignity whatsoever? The ìdiocy is strong with strong Lie Mohammed or whatever he calls himself

the president is living in Abuja house in London. technically he is in Nigeria. but at the expenses of our forex

We have great schools and hospitals too in Nigeria. Let them treat themselves and send their children to our schools. We'll save a lot of money with that.

Why are some people so pathetic and nitwit and also full of negativity. Many people commenting here didn't even understand or not ready to read the message but because it came from their perceived enemy and hate party they could not withstand the truth on the head. Many that have not gone out of their comfort zone are even claiming no good location in Nigeria. It's a pity that some people have sold their conscience in trade for politicking. You cannot know more than where you've been to in life. There are many attractive and heaven on earth locations in Nigeria that will make your heart think you're in abroad. Come to think of it, a single location can be used for different scenes just by changing outlook. Video shooting have gone scientific with different artistic display.
We cannot continue to pretend that until one thing is good before another can be good. Many of these artists started from this local content and same local content that brought them to limelight but themselves refused to develop the system that made them but instead I'm to develop another environment after been made. If they had not made enough money would they think of shooting outside? Capital no. They need to give back to the society that made them to bring out the best they so desired from the system.
The artists are as guilty as the politicians and other individuals that have gained from the system but refused to give back to the system that made them. Peter Okoye should understand the point of government and stop being childish because he has arrived. Can a struggling artist think of shooting abroad.?

"The
argument is simple, when you go to shoot a film
offshore, you use the work force of that country to
develop the capacity of that country and you
improve the economy of that country and that is
what we are trying to do here.”

this statement shows how dumb this man is.....

u re trying to stop artists from shooting abroad because the re developing the capacity of those countries.

while govt officials and most especially our president's medical tourism abroad is developing the capacity of our medical personnels and providing them jobs..ohh I see!

wat is good for the geese is good for the gander....if pmb who banned medical tourism for govt officials is himself guilty of same thing then the fg doesn't ve the moral right to stop our artists from shooting abroad.

if they really want to create jobs, they should go for other means of doing that.build industries, fix infrastructures, etc

u can not ve one rule for the president and another for the citizens.

do you think they don't know the fact? They know but the mentality of I or we must attack the government of APC especially lai muhammed is disturbing them. The same entertainment industry that Government policy helped to grow in Nigeria is rubbishing new government policy today. One of those that attack your said where in Nigeria is suitable to shoot a movie, is it lekki or ikoyi. Meaning most of them don't know what they are saying. There are many sensible places in Nigeria that they can do their movie or music. Be it Lagos, portharcort, Abuja, ibadan, Owerri, anambra, jos and many more. The most important part of it is to generate revenue and promote our locally made goods and culture. At the same time, this does not mean certain percentage of entertainment can't be done outside the country. And other things like hospital as mentioned by people should be done at home except those that Nigeria have no power to do or with no specialist that can handle it in Nigeria. But, we must encourage and promote our own made goods either we like or not.

Pull your head from your behind. The part you highlighted said that " visiting actors and producers are meant to pay" not that Ghanaian are banned to shoot video elsewhere. Lai initial move was to ban artist from shooting video abroad so stop supporting this clueless government.

People like you are the reason people like Lai Mohammed are still in government.

I pray God delivers you from bitterness and hate. It so ingrained in you, you refuse to see pass negativity.

If visiting producers and directors are made to pay $1,000 and $5,000 respectively to Ghanaian govt how does that affect Ghanaian economy? Tell me smart dude.

I ain't Lai Mohammed man, that does not mean, I should not applaud him when his policies are sound. Policies are meant for collective good. The problem with Nigerians, once it does not favour them individually, they kick. Once they don't like you, they expect nothing good from you irrespective of how hard you try to please. I can understand, it's a Nigerian factor.

Stop being a tool! If Lai Mohammed had said that he would visiting artist pay a fee to the Federal Government no one was going to fault him.

For him to suggest banning Nigeria artist from shooting abroad is as stupid an idea as you trying to defend him.

Einstein how as Bubu spending our hard earned fx in London affecting our economy and health sector? Why didn't Lai suggest forcing Bubu home to receive medical care here if you are so much in support of local content? Or your support for local content is for everyone else save for Bubu and his cronies?

Everything mustn't be in Lagos.

We have very nice places in Nigeria if it can only be explored.
They do really nice movies in Nigeria already. Most Nollywood movies are done in Nigeria, including English, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.
I think its mainly music videos that are shot abroad. But you'll b surprised if they start shooting in Nigeria how many jobs can be created.
Atimes though, maybe its cheaper shooting outside.
With bad power supply??
