The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has proclaimed August of 2017 as a date for the mass return of all Igbo indigenes living in the north.

The gathering said the presentation was to enable Igbo indigenes to beat the October first due date given to them by the Arewa young people.

An official statement by the gathering's Director of Information, Comrade Samuel Edesonu, expressed that the choice was come to at its National Executive meeting which was managed by its pioneer, Comrade Uchenna Madu.

Edesonu said some portion of it picked August because on the grounds that it was a period when exercises were overflowing in Igboland, including new yam celebrations and the ladies' August meeting, and that Ndigbo living in the north can exploit the exercises to move their families back home.

It stated, "In continuation of our prior stand and position on the quit notice to the general population of Biafra by Arewa individuals which will slip by on Oct first. MASSOB demands and entice on Biafrans living in Arewa land to increase every one of their endeavors in migrating their families back home.
