Is the national council of states addressed in the constitution? If so then the senate can alter its members, If not then they are deceiving themselves aa usual

Mumu senate we are talking of resources control and you pretend not to understand the simple meaning. Wait until anambra election you will understand. Action speaks louder than words. Any child that does not want the mother to sleep will not find sleep too.

They forget to include the scrapping of one arm of the NASS (preferable Senate), it's equally important to reduce wastages.

Some people want to stop GEJ from contesting 2019 elections.

What do they mean by " Anyone who gets sworn in to complete the term of an elected President or Governor should not serve more than one term " ?

The vote will fail...

Good one from the Senate.

The NASS should note the 34th item requiring amendment. This is the unbundling of Laws of Intellectual Property out of the Exclusive Legislative list, unto the Concurrent Legislative list.

The laws regulating Copyright, Patent, Trademark, Industrial Designs and other similar laws have always been stalled and underutilized due to the fact that states legislature and states judiciary are handicapped when it comes to laws of Intellectual Property.

To make Nigeria such a country that should experience true development, whether technological or economical; States must be brought in through constutional amendment that allows for both Federal and state participation.

What we have currently should not be allowed to continue, as ONLY NATIONAL ASSEMBLY HAS POWERS TO LEGISLATE ON THE SUBJECT. ONLY FEDEDRAL HIGH COURTS ALSO HAS THE EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION TO DETERMINE ISSUES BORDERING ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.

Let this law be amended to allow for State assemblies and States High Court because the Federal High Courts are not effective in majority of States of the Nigerian Federation, leading to a somewhat of apathy on this area of our laws.

Judges of many of The Federal High Courts in various states have many States to cover and therefore always visiting in nature. The effect is that a Judge will have many states to cover under his "ZONE" and will sit perhaps once in a long while in each of the states under his zone.

If states High Court are granted JURISDICTION, the observance and enforcement will come alive, which will in turn lead to inventions for patents; designs for, and by industrial workers; copyrightable works, to mention a few.

It doesn't even make sense.

What if he wants to contest as independent candidate away from the joint one he had with his formal boss?

so any deputy that has always had the intention of becoming president one day and use two term will have to resign when his boss dies!

These people are sick.

The ages should be something like this

President. 35

Governor. 35

Senate. 30

HoR. 25

Chairman LG. 25

Councellors. 20 or even 18

Danjuma Goje should go and tell his people to start educating their women. The time of "some states don't have" is past. If you don't have, start making them. We should not be bending the constitution for the incompetence of some.

This was same excuse they gave for university entry qualification and more than 50years after independence they are still yet to catch up. They cannot keep dragging us back.

Danjuma Goje has always sounds very unintelligent!

was he not the one telling Fashola on one senate plenary that "this is not lagos state",an insult to people of the state and its legislature!....Danjuma goje has always been foolish!

Is this the kind of people northerners elect?

The funny thing is that I don't think the northern elites really vote and illiterates that do, tend to vote another illiterate.

I expect extreme resistance to any such measure from the most unsustainable states, particularly those in the north. For resource-control to pass, I think the middle-belt states will have to be offered substantial backing for something they particularly want more than other regions, to tempt them to forgo all that federal allocation money.
hope you have political ambition. we need you

If this bill is amended and enshrined into our constitution, the only problem we'll be havin' is implementation..
Unlike what happened to the last ConFab meeting..
