Management of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Ile-Ife has confirmed Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola as Professor of Building Structures.
The Chairman, Committee on Appointments and Promotion, who is also the Vice Chancellor of OAU, Professor Eyitayo Ogunbodede made the announcement today after the Senate meeting of the institution.
He said the promotion takes effect from 2012.
Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that the announcement was greeted with wild jubilation by colleagues and students of Professor Olusola.
Professor Olusola who started his career as a graduate assistant in 1990 rose through the ranks to become an associate professor in 2009.
The Ikere born politician had his first degree in 1989 and graduated as the best student in his set.
Professor Olusola had published fifty academic researches in both local and international journals.
He has supervised several masters, PhD & M.Phil students before becoming a full fledged Professor of Building structures.
