if she's unhappy with her weight that is.
i personally think that her self esteem is the most important in this issue. not her weight.

If you're fat, expect people to call you fat. You might consider it callous, but that's just human nature - we don't know any better.
The best you can do for yourself like the poster above me said is to focus on your confidence level. If your self esteem is high you will be pretty much unshakeable. You would be able to brush off those petty comments or disparaging remarks like they're flies.
