Now, you hold on to this while I hold on to it. And then we have limited resource for our survival.
I'll want my family to survive first at all cost and you will definitely want same for your family. What will be the outcome?

It is also possible for me to love your family as well as I love my family, i.e., realizing that, just as I want my family to survive, you also want your family to survive. In this case my action will be different. I'll show more understanding, tolerance and forbearance.

The natural man finds it hard to do this. I think that is where your idea of "it all boils down to ignorance and stupidity" lies.
