Olodo, meanwhile your parasitic states are all run by "our oyel money" . ND will not suffer. If oil dries up so what? We still have the largest gas reserves in Africa. NLNG in Bonny alone produces 1/8th of the Liquefied natural gas in Africa. We have access to the sea and of course the brains to thrive.

So, our oyel people will start hawking their oyel in Lagos hold-ups like Gala and La Casera.

Two consolations: one, I would be settled by then, God willing; two, there are other by-Products of crude oil.

One thing remains obvious though: We will keep using them petrol aod diesel powered vehicles here in Nigeria even after those countries in Europe stop using them. They will start "dumping" them here. Meanwhile, this latest development might lead to the demise of certain regimes and collapse of many African economies that are heavily dependent on oil. I don't know how prepared Nigeria is going to be by that time. Then you have Equatorial Guinea,Angola,Gabon and the rest. Armageddon loading...

it is not if we will still use fuel for vehicles in nigeria but the issue is our source of revenue as a country. we are highly dependant on oil and oil our customers/buyer have found alternatives

@Primebuilders I already considered that in an earlier post. Just thought I should look at it from another angle. Shouldn't we be thinking "of going green" in order to prevent those guys from dumping their obsolete fuel and diesel machines here in the not too distant future? This development is bigger than just the country's revenue. It is a bumper package of worries.

the truth is ;they'll dump it, whether we like it or not, Africa is still using locomotives for crying out loud. we can only minimize it's effects by thinking ahead. I'm majorly concerned about the economy that it's destiny rest upon the shoulder of a very-soon-to-be-obsolete product....the name petrodol***

But the thing is that oil can never be totally irrelevant, they're other by products of petroleum like natural gas, plastic, fertilizer etc tho I'm not encouraging Nigeria not to diversify her economy.

To start using what please?

Electric cars, buses....etc...

At the moment, Millions of plugin electric cars, utility vans etc have already been sold in France, Norway etc....

The adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in France is actively supported by the French government through a bonus-malus system and other incentives. The government provides subsidies towards the purchase of all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids with low CO2 emissions. The French government also set up a national purchase incentive scheme for all-electric utility vans....

The French Government is actively encouraging it's populace to dump all diesel[or PMS] powered engines for a more cleaner electric plug-in vehicles....

250 cubic feet of natural gas per day each! But, as shown here petroleum is not just used for fuel.

This is not a good news for Nigeria in particular and OPEC in general.
But it is a step in the right direction in the sense that Nigeria, in the last 57 years have refused to diversified their economy.
The only language the country understand is how to drill crude oil and sell. We don't even have a functional refinery, no factory, no electricity, we don't even produce tooth pick, and we will start producing pencil by the year 2020.

So this is a good news, from 2025, just 8 years from now, we will start drinking our crude oil.

Everything is fundamentally wrong with this country and guess what?
Lorrita Onochie will be somewhere reading this post and thinking that I'm crossing the National red line instead of advising her principal.
When PMB said we're looking at agriculture and solid minerals, where were U sir? An economy can't be diversified completely in 4 4 yrs. Its still a work in progress.

When the supply is enormous with very few buyers, the Price of Diesel would directly or indirectly fall drastically to the detriment of our oil dependent economy...

...However, there are other byproducts of crude which can help our economy, if, and only if, we're able to really develope and upgrade Our economy/companies..... And also an upgrade in Agriculture is gravely Required....
