Most times our smartphones become very hot it is due to an overheating battery and at times beacuse of this intense heat, The battery may catch fire or explode even. We all know what happened in 2016 when there were issues with the design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that caused many of the phones to blow up and Samsung had to issue a worldwide Recall of the phone.

Ever since, Many smartphone users have become conscious of their batteries and its potential to overheat, Researchers have been working their asses out and have discovered a possible solution and YES, its all about water.

well to cut the long story short and be more incisive, Smartphones uses which use lithium-ion (li-ion) batteries which have electrolytes inside them that aids movement between the electrodes and the ions, these electrolytes are made of organic chemicals which could cause the battery to ignite under certain conditions. The Researchers describes a form of lithium-ion battery that uses Water instead of organic compunds. cool right?

These batteries would still generate as much power as its chemical counterpart and the electrodes inside will have a coating that wont degrade with the use of water-based electrolyte, But There's a downside sadly

The Normal battery our phones use has a minimal limit of at least 500 cycles but these new batteries would only have about 70 cycles

But its technology right? it will always get better.
