You are right to pray before reading the bible, because if we try to study it literally we may not be able to fully comprehend it. That's why we need the holy spirit to teach us. The main reasons the flood came is in Genesis 6:5 “The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” The rate at which people commited sin was staggering. People were incredibly evil and perverted. Secondly “The sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose” (Genesis 6:2). The sons of God in the bible, especially in the old testament usually applied to angels, read Job 1:6. This bible passage seems to be stating that, somehow, there
was a physical union between angels and human women. The
unnatural offspring of this union were the nephilim (giants). This was caused by satan to corrupt the human genetic system so that christ will not be born. God would not allow this unholy and unatural union to continue. It is the reason for the flood. About the animals. It is my believe that God in His omnipotence can do all things. So i believe that miraclously the animals came to noah. Please study the bible to determine if you believe the same.
