HISTORY, BIGOTRY, GENOCIDE AND BUHARI'S NIGERIA : LEST WE FORGET

History is always available for those who wish to learn. Yet, will people ever learn? Two significant statements -- separated in time by a period of two years -- mark the entire paradox of the miserably bigoted and Godless life of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The first was in 2013 at a time of heightened political, religious and ethnic tensions over the Boko Haram brigandage, which was clearly manipulated by northern Nigerian Muslim politicians and their Bola Tinubu Yoruba APC allies in the South West to undermine the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

When the Nigerian Army intensified its military campaign against the Boko Haram bastards who HAD BOMBED, KILLED AND MAIMED INNOCENT NIGERIANS AND PLACES OF WORSHIP, Muhammadu Buhari, a former military Head of State, took sides with the Boko Haram terrorists and condemned the military, claiming that AN ATTACK ON BOKO HARAM WAS AN ATTACK ON THE NORTH!

The second statement was made in the US in 2015 by Buhari shortly after he was elected President by an ethno-religiously bigoted alliance between the Muslim North and the Tinubu Yoruba South West.

In an answer to a question by an American journalist about inclusiveness which he clearly had not understood, Buhari, after asking the questioner whether she had seen the results of the election, announced that those who gave him 5 percent of the votes could not expect to be treated equally with those who gave him 97 percent!

Thus, with this statement, as well as the previous one, Muhammadu Buhari, a corrupt, certificate-less, hypocritical, semiliterate, blood thirsty Islamic Fundamentalist Secondary School drop-out, effectively signalled the balkanisation and partitioning of Nigeria under his watch into THOSE WHO VOTED FOR HIM AND THOSE WHO DID NOT.

Since then, he has lived true to his promise. The people of the South, particularly the South East and South South, who had rejected him in the 2015 election, have borne the full brunt of the blood thirsty resentment of President Buhari, his kinsmen/women and apologists.

First, he arrested Nnamdi Kanu -- the Kanu who has not killed anyone -- and incarcerated him needlessly for a long time, thus, turning Kanu from an unknown quantity into an overnight freedom fighter where his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, had wisely ignored Kanu.

Second, he embarked on a systematic and total exclusion of the South East from his government because they did not vote for him, where his predecessor, Jonathan, gave northern Muslim politicians overwhelming advantages in the five years of his own government despite their complete rejection of him in the 2011 election.

An entire ethnic group was given a 'quit notice' in the North by northern Muslim youths backed by northern Muslim politicians and traditional rulers, yet up till today, nothing has happened to those who gave the notice. Instead, they have been shielded with insufferable excuses.

I repeat, since Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as President in 2015, he has embarked on not just the most systematic and pernicious exclusion of the South East from the commanding heights of governance but also a campaign of exterminating them through extra judicial violence. Pray, what does any right thinking Nigerian expect from this sort of Presidential knavery? Peace? Harmony? Stability?

Can you have your cake and eat it?

Fulani herdsmen have continuously committed horrendous atrocities from the North Central to Igbo land, yet the Buhari federal government has continued to look the other way.

Boko Haram have killed, bombed and maimed thousands for years yet they continue to be treated with kid gloves by the same man who announced in 2013 that an attack on Boko Haram was an attack on the North, and we see this in their release being continuously 'swapped' for the 'abducted' Chibok girls.

Yet Buhari is fixated solely on this genocide against unarmed protesters. Anyone who is incapable of seeing that Buhari's bigoted policies and actions alone since he was sworn in in 2015 are responsible for the current tension, instability and genocide in the country is absolutely insane.

Yes, genocide! Absolutely genocide! What the Nigerian Army(consisting chiefly of northern Muslims) is conducting in the South East now, and what Muhammadu Buhari has been carrying out against Igbos since he was sworn in in 2015, are nothing but genocide, and anyone who doubts it should fetch a good dictionary of the English language and educate himself or herself on the meaning of that expression.

For those who have forgotten, what Buhari and his Army are doing to Igbos now is precisely the same as what Sani Abacha did to the Yorubas between 1993 and 1998 in the wake of the June 12 debacle, resulting in needless deaths in Lagos and other parts of the South West, as well as the setting up of O'odua Peoples Congress(OPC) and Radio Kudirat by Yoruba politicians.

The likes of Wole Soyinka, Kayode Fayemi, Bola Tinubu and even Femi Falana went underground against the Federal Government then and many people died over the June 12 struggle in Yoruba land.

Indeed, even after the South West was 'pacified' over the MKO Abiola debacle with the election of Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999, OPC continued its campaign against Nigeria especially against northern Muslims resulting in the clashes between them and Hausa Fulanis in Sagamu, Ibadan, Abeokuta and Lagos.

The lesson of history is simple. WHERE IS ABACHA TODAY?

And so anyone who is justifying this evil against the South East today because of amnesia and parochial anti-Igbo sentiment will definitely pay a heavy price.

To our South East brothers and sisters, my advice is:
STAY SAFE, AND AVOID ANY NEEDLESS CONFRONTATION WITH OTHER INNOCENT NIGERIANS.

If our God is a God of justice, and I know He is, He will definitely punish and destroy Muhammadu Buhari and all those who justify his current genocide in the South East, as well as their generations forevermore. Amen.
