Here is what needs to happen now that the ground has cleared.

1 - the elites, the professionals, the traditional rulers, retired civil servants, the elders, the veterans of Biafran war...

These people should lead a community rally to be staged in their respective states. They need to drape the Biafran flag and carry it with pride on the march and in defiance to the FG's attempt to outlaw the symbols and colors of Biafra and make its posession unlawful. They should start their march at the steps of the courthouse, proceed to the government house and end the march in front of the state assembly. In their address to the press, tell the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces that the Ibos were not consulted and neither was a written contract obtained in which the sole use of the Nigerian colors of Green/White/Green and its Coat of Arms became absolutely binding or divinely ordained. Make it clear to the international audience that the Biafran colors and standards are intimately tied to the history of Ibo struggle and to outlaw it is to outlaw your history in the war against Nigeria. In America the Confederate flag is not used as symbol of state but ts history continues to be celebrated and its posession is not outlawed. SE states dont have to fly Biafran flags but its use for personal and individual attachments must not be banned or outlawed.


2 - the elites, the professionals, the globally influential, the diasporeans....

People like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Chimamanda Adochie, ....even Reno Omokri that professes his staunch support for Ibos, should take an advertorial in a major widely circulated newspaper and counter the assaults on Aba and Umuahia with facts and focus on the root cause of the assault on innocent people. They must also carry a huge and visible Biafran flag to show solidarity to the group in 1. No drumming, no chanting, no assault....strictly cerebral counter points directed at the American movers and shakers to outline for them the humiliation innocent Ibo people are subjected to.

This American rally should be staged at UN HQ, at Wall Street, at Washington DC, in Cambridge Massachussets, in LA, in Chicago, in Atlanta and in Philladelphia.

There are more than enough Ibo presence in US to make this coverage possible.

You have been very loud in Nairaland and in Nigeria but quite timid to show your face and tell your story to the world. Here is that opportunity.

Another party in Europe must stage a similar rally in London, in Paris, in Frankfurt, in Stockholm, in Amsterdam, .....


It is good news to know Kanu and IPOB are outlawed but it is a flagrant abuse and a steep disrespect to ban, outlaw and persecute people for a part of history that is dear to them. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!
