Nigeria actually has a way of taking one step forward and two steps backward. True story. This is me fully dressed up like a Yoruba man 30 years ago. I just came back to Nigeria for Holiday. Before I went to America there were polaroid and other small cameras. Studios with kodak papers etc. Then few years later I came back and I wanted to take a passport photo for a new international passport. I was told I had to go to this guy at the ringroad to make a photo. We took a trip to 1920.

When I came there he and the other guys were actually using a pinhole camera. Brilliant. Why? Buhari came. The first coming. and Things got hard, there was austerity measures and they couldn't import stuff anymore so the guys had to result to the old fashion pinhole camera to make do.

It worked very well. I still have the International passport although, not valid anymore. Guess what? they were smiling while doing it.

I know people with short memory will not remember this, but I took a photo of the event with my imported camera. I wonder how back we will go this time before a revival.
