Go for your conference
Leave hotel after day3 then book whatever hotel you want for your personal trip.

Relevant point. Thank you.

It seems some of you think this is an anonymous forum. Embassies read these posts all the time

even if you are the embassy itself, I will still ask you same question.

What effect does scheduling interview in Abuja (for someone who lives and work in Lagos) so as to get an early date have on one's application?

Dishonesty when I'm thinking fund management ? So you think you can mend people by stoning them(like you are all holy) , I have read most of your posts here and a I'm not surprised to read this from you. At the end of the day nothing can be taken from your post except leaving the reader with the perception of you playing GOD!

I hope you feel this righteous when you look at yourself in the mirror ?

It’s not fund management if you’re using company funds to pay for your own vacation. The fact that we even have to debate this is sad.

Since your case is special.. you can apply for emergency appointment.

Child birth is not considered an emergency. This has been debated on the US child birth thread. She’s free to try though.

It shouldn't have any effect since you are time bound.
The embassy are humans and know of all these challenges too...highest if asked you tell them that you got a closer date in Abuja which conforms better to your travel plans.

Thanks for the wonderful works. I've been meticulously following this thread for a while. Please, I've a question. I've a booked appointment at the Consular Office in Lagos in a few weeks. While booking my appointment, I ERRONEOUSLY ticked REGULAR in the Visa Priority column. Moreso, I was supposed to tick the column to show I was earlier refused a visa in the last 6 months. Truthfully, it was an oversight.
However, in the DS 160 Form, I correctly accepted been denied a visa earlier and went ahead to write why I presumed I was DENIED then by the VO. Hope this disparity won't pose problems for me? Thank you House. God bless you guys richly. Amen

Nothing as long as your ds160 form is routed to Abuja

You should pick the correct visa priority type. It is clearly writing, if you have been refused in the last 6 months please pick the correct visa priority appointment.

Hello House,

I was denied previously because I couldn't back up the 3countries I listed as travel history, I told the Vo I was mugged and in the process my passport was stolen-That passport is expired already and I'm using a new one which I used to apply.
I'm about to apply again kindly advise me on how I can correct this blunder in my next application.

Will an affidavit work for me?

Plssssss ooo!

Did you indicate that you once had your passport stolen? Probably not, I guess you should indicate it and the passport number if known and mind you, your recent passport contains the passport number of the old one.

Please folks i need your help with my questions.

I completed the Online Non-immigrant Visa Application (DS-160), selecting lagos Nigeria as the place where I will be applying for the visa

My departure date on DS-160 application form was July 10 2018, and i have submitted the application form.

I was trying to book my appointment online, and i saw first appointment date in October 15 2018. Please folks, is it possible for me to chose place of interview as Abuja? knowing fully that i submitted and indicated lagos as my place where I will be applying for this visa.

Another question, I was previously denied US visa last year June 2017! Today when i was trying to book appointment, i saw where they indicate if i have been previously applied/interviewed and/or refused within the last 6 months. Please folks should click Yes/No?

I was refused last year June 2017!

I will appreciate if folks here can put me though. Thanks everyone here
This has been answered I suppose, kindly read through.

For ds160 application, you must be interviewed in the location you submitted your ds160 form.

I don't know what will happen to you, it is also safer to do the right thing.
Maybe, you should cancel the date and go for the right option, hopefully it is the first cancellation and you are not going to be asked to make another visa fee payment.

Hello house, I need your advice and I Kindly ask for it smiley . Ejo, Biko, so ni.

My cousin (Aunty’s daughter) recently got her US PR after her dad filled for her (the dad is a US Citizen).

My Aunty is a baby mama and not legally married to the father of the girl.

The daughter in question is just 13 years and is planning to go to the US in a couple of weeks to Visit the dad.

Question is this: It will be the first time the 13 year old will be flying let alone traveling on her own (if she eventually does) but the mom wants to follow her.

Q: IS THIS ENOUGH GROUND FOR A US VISA APPLICATION?

Your Aunts visa application might not be granted just base on serving as an escort to her daughter who will be travelling to the US to see her father.

Unaccompanied minors travel alone all the time on international flights they just need to pay extra for an assigned air hottest to serve as the temporary guardian during the flight and will be released to the father or agreed persons who will be receiving your neice when she gets to the US.

Thank you for this.

My Aunt also has a sibling in the US. I guess she can also use the time to visit the sibling.

Are you sure these
PREVIOUSLY DENIED & REGULAR visa priority option is not a new development?. Because, I didn't see anything of such(previously denied option) while schedule appointment some months ago.

Hello House, thanks for the knowledge you people have been sharing.

I have some couple of questions to ask hopefully people will be able to help out.

I have been denied b1/b2 twice last year. Was seeking to go to the US for a conference although i blamed myself for the refusal because i wasn't prepared at all ( shy and lacked confidence) and yet to know about this site( This must have been the most underrated site ever). I was asked some question that i would have answered but fear catch me i con dey stammer smiley. I had just a single travel history to India before my refusal but i have strengthen that by visiting Abu dhabi after i was refused.
Secondly my role at work has changed and my salary has improved and i own a car now.

I have scheduled my interview for July and still applying for the same conference.

My questions are:
1. what reason should i give for my initial refusal in my ds160. Should i just say according to 214b i failed to demonstrate i have ties that will compel me to return to my country or is there a way i can juice this up a bit
2. how bad Will the initial double refusal affect my chances
3.If you make a mistake in your ds160 form and you update and correct it after you have submitted initially, will the consular see the edited info.

Thanks.
