It's in Africa they like to fool people and people bleach, here in America the dark skinned blacks don't bleach and are proud of their skin, even the ladies. Dark skinned black guys here are in high demand by all races, so why bleach.
Exactly

Prreeacch!!!!
Too many girls bleaching their skin. It's absolutely horrible. Most times they look horrible. Their face yellow and theirs hands and feet black. If you see their faces without makeup, you'll run. Lets embrace the skin God gave to us. Theres nothin like a confident black dark skin woman who loves herself. Its beautiful.
It’s when they start ageing they see the havoc they ripped on their skin wink

It's worse in India, dark-skinned people are discriminated and considered poor, you rarely see a wealthy Indian that has a dark skin, Fair skin is a big societal demand in India, even in Bollywood, no successful dark-skinned actor, they won't give you a lead role,it's impossible lol, that's how bad it is.

IHate9jerians:

Colourism in Nigerian began with the advent of affordable satellite tv in the late 1990s.
That was when Nigerian ladies started watching black american ladies who then spread their insecurities to other coloured women around the world.
Before then,i hardly heard anyone in Nigeria use the terms dark skinned, light skinned, chocolate or whatever.

Is Nigeria not a "black nation"?How can i make fun of you for being black?Am i not also black?
Na wa o.Women and their insecurities
Mtscheww

U are very RIGHT about when this all started in Nigeria.

But dont blame d black american woman. Uve actually not walked in her shoes. Media plays a huge role in ingraining this. And it has affected men, just as much as women. U obviously are from a generation where it wasnt an issue (ecspecially as a teen) so it hasnt changed ur opinion of whats "beautiful", but trust me, it is influencing the next generation - male and female. If it wasnt influencing d males too, it wouldnt have a huge following among females.

Just like dt other one where silky smooth hair is considered beautiful, and all black women started wearing their insecurity on their head. Do u think black men dont also consider silky hair as beautiful?

Men are not d cause. I think its just a general societal conditioning dts promoting selfhate and should be condemned when its blatant. Otherwise, its best to ignore.

But Nivea some years back was never a lighten skin cream and we loved it that way. With this new one advertising fair skin. Are they saying Africans are ungrateful for not appreciating their ebony beautiful completion?

Ghanaian ladies are known to be very dark with non-shiny skin...very fat and robust yansh /buttock

Ghanian ladies now take care of their skin very well be it with natural products or not...
Their dark skin is smooth and shiny and they so love their black soap ,coco or sheabutter + coconut oil
They also have harmless skin brightening lotions

So please up ate your self on Ghanian ladies ..

The lady in question is a dark lady with inferiority complex. It takes a lot to identify such people. grin

First and foremost, Africans are blacks and our skin tone are in different shades. This advert is for fairer skin toned ladies, and if you're black and have a problem with that simply means you're intimated by the fairer skin toned ladies, so the ranting over the cream billboard. She has serious issues!.

It's not for women who are naturally fair. It is for all people who want to get lighter which is problematic in itself.

The model is not a fair skinned woman she is a dark skinned girl, in fact she looks like former Miss Nigeria or MBGN Owowunmi Akinnifesi.

It's time Africans start championing their god given skin tone and shunning dark skin tone shaming which this advert and the idea of lightening cream promote as an avenue to be better or an improvement over a dark skin tone.

They should never have been allowed to market such a damaging idea. Our skin needs MOISTURISING not LIGHTENING whether you are naturally light or dark.

This is the girl in the ad Omowunmi Akinnfesi and I'm very disappointed in her.

I hoped it was not her because she was celebrated for being a dark skinned/ chocolate MBGN.I remember watching her win the crown too.
