The Yoruba nation has been consistent in their demand and calls for restructuring, thereby setting the tone for the 2019 electioneering campaigns. Security reports must have informed Buhari that the South West are inclined to dump him in 2019 for another candidate. Hence, his parley with the governors and politicians from Igboland.

Down here in the South East, no collective political strategy. Governor Dave Umahi says he doesn’t know what restructuring means and so Ebonyi State doesn’t want restructuring. Also, Governor Rochas Okorochas of Imo State said that the nation doesn’t need restructuring but repackaging. Aha, whatever that means.

On the sideline, Chief Nnia Nwodo led Ohaneze Ndigbo is busy speaking big grammar about restructuring and all that while I learnt he is also negotiating a vice president slot for the South East. So, for all the so-called ‘political sagacity’ and ‘wisdom’ of Nnia Nwodo, the best he can settle for is a VP slot. What about having someone take a shot at the presidency?

The South east simply do not know what they want. They keep allowing themselves to be used and dumped.

The south east won't be the president of this country anytime soon unless they finally seat down learn to stop being greedy when elections are at the corner.

Having said that, I also must say I don't think Buhari should contest in 2019. I am one of his biggest fans but to be told, he seems to have lost his mojo due to his health problems.

I have visited your blog and read the writeup.

You should be thanking me.

South East loses again, to you, because it's not President of South East extraction this time 2019?

What everybody forgets is that conferment of Presidency to any zone or region does not automatically translate to progress in that zone or region. Jonathan ruled for 6years and Bayelsa and entire South South remained as if he never came. Buhari is President for 2years going to 3. The poverty index of North East??

And again, sometime you have that exalted office but your not in charge. Igbos have been severally accused of being the ones that ran Jonathan's administration. Buhari just told South Easterners that they were more favoured than the North in his administration and nobody has successfully challenged that assertion.

So, what am I saying? Igbos are in good hands in Nigerian politics. There is a silent dichotomy of politics that has Igbos split between those in homeland (5 state) and those across the Niger _Delta Igbos and Rivers Igbos. They were made to deny their Igbo link as part of divide and rule brought by the war. Today mainland Igbos 'accept' that those our brothrs are not Igbos because it pays politically.

So whatever you give to Kachukwu, Amaechi, Nwike, Okowa, etc. Igbos still come and say, but you have not given us.

That's an aside. Igbo presidency will take a little while, but it will happen. And anytime, we don't make it, don't think all is lost. It will happen

At least Igbo did not vote for our current economic calamity.
Not amount of name calling will make us vote a fool. History will vindicate us.

Your idea of political gain is a primary 4 social studies definition. Sitting on the iron throne in aso rock does very little to improve the economic index of a region/state/tribe. We all saw the evidence in the GEJ led govt where only but a handful got the real dividend while the larger population still remain in penury: no portable drinking water even in otuoke, no good roads linking the state to other regions, education remains abysmal while the inner caucus brought houses in Lagos and some built universities in Benin Rep.

We should be negotiating for projects that will bring life to the SE and affect the common man. Let's start with development of Ibaka sea port , dredging of Niger to allow cargoes into Onitsha, good roads interlinking the states etc. Let our governors do their own part becuase every state in Nigeria is actually a mini-country of its own with the governor as it's president. Development doesn't come from abuja alone. Negotiating for vp or insisting on President doesn't add much to the table. Ike Ekweremadu has been senate VP for the 3rd tenure now, can we collectively boast of any project his office has attracted to the SE if not for his immediate family and friends? We should concentrate on building stronger institutions that has developmental ties to the grassroots. River state bought a stake in eleme petrochemicals and the electricity distribution company in SS when it was being auctioned, what and what did states in the SE buy? Nada! Couldn't we have pulled resources together to buy EEDC? Can't the governors network the SE roads and get the rails linking them to work also? Nothing stops regional development if not for our selfish governors that are so myopic that they will betray one another just to remain in power.

Forget presidency, the development of our region is the major thing we should be concerned with.

Exactly my point. I hate this talk about Igbo losing the presidency. Those who have been winning the presidency how far? Na wa for the way some Nigerians reason.
