bigfrancis21: I’m not saying I disagree with the main bulk of your write up but most people in the UK thing America’s a backwards country and there’s something to that. Not even re. gender but for one thing the fact that any psycho can go on a shooting spree because guns are that readily available. Let’s not pretend America’s some utopia. The US and the UK both have their highs and lows. |

Probz: You know how the world is, always looking for something new, or some new interest or trend. Last decade, it was racism that was the trend, making the news and headlines. 'Racist person does this' or 'racist person says that' etc. Feminism is the trend now, especially in western countries. As with other past trends, the world will get tired of its whiles and move to something new or some other new trend. If you want to get famous, buy into or rhyme with feminism and you get lotta applause and followers. It is called commercial feminism. Beyonce uses this very well to effectively sell her songs, on the outside, she is a 'feminist', yet on the inside, she is married to Jay Z, bears his surname and probably spends enough time in the kitchen and does most of the housework (things feminists love to abhor and wish for women not to do). Even our own dear Chimamanda Adichie has bought into the feminist frenzy and she admitted in a recent interview that she is not raising her children, especially her daughter, the 'Nigerian' way. She claims her 15-month old daughter is strong-willed and loves to express herself so she would not 'control' her but let her grow up the way she likes. I'm really interested to see how all this turns out for her. |
