He was definitely not referring to Freeze because Freeze never made such statement.

One thing about this pastors is that they will never address this tithe issue once and for all, they will just keep beating around the bush

Every sane mind knows that tithing as a Christian is wrong

Modified: I just made a little research and Freeze made a comment similar to that and he was purposely quoted out of context by dubious Adeboye. I just lost more respect for the man.

And Freeze was right.

Deuteronomy 14: 25 and 26.

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

That is what YOU THINK he meant

What I think he means is it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven.

We all know that a camel cannot pass through the eye of a needle
Jesus said worry not about what you will eat does not your father feed the birds? So what are you talking about .

Was he joking when he said that?

It is easier for camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man NOT to love money. It is human nature to love money and that is why he said
sell everything and follow me.

So if you are saying you need extra grace you are saying it is easier for a rich man than for a poor man to enter heaven?

Why did Jesus not say so?

The reality is a genuine Christian cannot be poor. Poverty is not what you possess but your spirit.
A genuine Christian should not be concerned about the "security" of a bank account unless the place where Jesus said God will look after your needs was just comedy

The problem with most of you is complete, total ignorance. And honestly ironing out issues with an ignorant person is a waste of time.

Most Nigerian Christians don't have any clue about the bible. What did Jesus mean?

During the time of Christ, camel was transportation animal. Now where the camel is kept is called needle. For the camel to enter a needle it will remove it's overload then enter it's place of rest through the needle. So what Christ implied is a rich man will remove all pride, be humble. How did He end the passage you quoted, that what is impossible with man is possible with God.

Daddyfreeze didn’t say that, this man lied to his congregation when he didn’t know how to defend their scam.

I stopped paying tithe the day i saw my Bishop first son of my age driving the best car and living in opulence. I am not saying they should live in poverty but if millions of people are making contributions towards these churches week in week out, i think there should be a Housing, food and other essential provisions for the homeless, widows, widowers, orphans, social responsibilities like roads instead of flying all over the world and building universities.

I asked myself, is this stupidity or smartness on my part?

I look at the white people who brought this religion to Africa, i realised that they don’t give F about religion and their continent is far more prosperous than Africa where poverty reigns supreme.

I went further to ask myself this question, if these white folks could ignored all the God’s commandments in the bible and Quran and remained the most powerful and prosperous Nations on earth despite all their stance on homosexuality and others, i better have a rethink about religion which i did.

Another question that begged for answers then was, why did God who created heaven and earth abandoned Africans when His gospel was being preached. Why did He leave it for Europeans and Arabs to bring these religions to our continent cos i think it should have been made automatically universal instead of continental.

Simple and elementary facts you must know;

Christianity didn't start in America

America is not Jerusalem

If Christianity is measured by wealth, Jesus Christ would have been the richest man during his days on earth. Satan even promised Jesus all the riches of the world, so when America promise Nigeria aids, it doesn't make Americans "religiously better" than Nigerians.

America is economically better than Nigeria. There is no correlation between economics and christianity.

If you don't work, you will remain poor. If you don't serve God, poverty isn't the consequence. They are two different things.

Jesus Christ never said you will turn to Bill Gates if you accept him as your Lord and personal saviour.

Peter, James, etc died "shamefully", you don't have to die in a private jet to prove your Christianity.

Americans or whatever it is you referred to did not bring Christianity to Africa. The Ethiopian woman in the Bible did.
Ethiopia is in Africa. Africans brought Christianity directly from the father of Christianity to Africa.

Stop finding unfounded correlations between Christianity and Money. If you don't serve God, you can be rich and prosperous.. There is only one consequence for not serving God. If you don't know, then you were never a Christian in the first place.

Most of you just come online to say nonsense.

Please can you let us know in what time, culture or language was the resting place of a camel called a needle. Is it in aramaic or hebrew or greek. And please bear in mind Jesus said 'eye of a needle'. This needle resting place also has to have an eye for it to apply.

Adeboye doesn't have fleets of jet, even Freeze knows that. The jet he uses is for the church and we use it for charter when he doesn't have to travel. More like an official plane because we can afford it!
Most things you see in that man's name are gifts given by people who's seen him as a high priest. Yes some people might make merchandise of the original vision God has given to him, just like how people use Facebook for porn and dubious things (do you blame zuckerberg for it though ?)
He's not an illiterate, he's humble, he's wise and the high priest of this country.

Leave God to judge these guys himself and mind your silly business.

He is not a high priest of any one. The only high priest or leader christians have is Christ Jesus said 'let no one be called father, all you are brothers'. No one should belong to Paul nor Apollos nor Enoch Adeboye nor place them in positions that should not exist in christianity There is only one high priest Jesus Christ.

17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

18 “Which ones?” he inquired.

Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[a] and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’[b”

20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”

21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God

This is the context ,You claim to be a Christian but you lack knowledge of scripture and you are arrogant
How can any one whose brain is working say from this scripture Jesus was talking about shedding pride?
Re: Pastor E.A Adeboye Reacts To Daddy Freeze's Comments On Tithes (VIDEO) by aribisala0(m): 4:32pm On Nov 07, 2017
Jesus was clearly talking of the attachment to their wealth that the rich have
Imagine the nonsense you are talking

"camel must remove overload" What is that?
I will leave it to sensible Nairalanders to read that scripture and make their own minds up where Jesus stood on the issue of rich men and heaven

Sometimes, Silence is golden....

For those who can't tell the difference in dispensation, can't appreciate the fact that for once moGs are waking up and ain't refered to no more as POOR CHURCH RATS,
People who can't differential between true worshippers of God and money mongers. Silence is golden.

Like i always tell your types, out of twelve, there was a Judas and you folks expect bad eggs not to spring up among fruits?

I make bold to say: there are true moG who are running with the mandate and nothing your types can so to stop them.

The gospel is going global. Churches are now able to pay for dedicated hosting and the gospel is penetrating countries with Christian restrictions and a host of others good money can afford.

Its a diff despensatuon.
More Jets wud be bought. Haters would keep hating.

People like you insult God! Are you saying the almighty God can't favour and bless his own with PJs without them touching church money? Smh

What types are you talking about. So is it because people call them church rats that turned them to thieves. Out of twelve there are 11.9 thieving pastors. Nobody is trying to stop them, there would always be blind guides leading the blind into pits, Jesus said that. It is just the few that would escape the pit that God is interested in. The Gospel has gone global before the likes of your MOGs, in the first decades of Christianity it was already broken into 3 continents. Missionaries have been penetrating restricted areas for thousands of years. Christianity was spread by zealous missionaries penetrating hinterlands, living and teaching the native people the gospel, eating, dining and dying with them the way Jesus did, not by celebrity pastors globe-troting all over the world in opulence. The JWs dont tithe but there is nothing your tithe collecting pastors can afford that they cant. There is hardly any country or Island they dont have missionaries or members.

Nobody is insulting God, even without touching the money, spreading a false message of tithing so as to fill the money box warrants them being called out, then they also start pilfering from the Box and claiming blessing from God. Nah them go first be God's ministers, we've had zealous christians, apostles and ministers in the Bible, compare and contrast your mentors to the original mentors.

So the Spirit of God is not guiding you to the meaning anymore? It is now "Google it"

Learn humility my friend because you have none

You see where your brain malfunctions is this .

Even if we accept this ridiculous meaning of "EYE OF THE NEEDLE"
It does not change the meaning of the scripture ie.

Most of you are liars quoting the bible out of context. And that is how we know liars. You said eye of the needle that it was a sewing needle but that was a lie and falsehood you were peddling. While the needle is a passage way a camel goes through.

You did not quote the whole text. What was Jesus conclusion?

25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

That was Jesus conclusion, man cannot do it but God can do it. So from this presentation a rich man can inherit the kingdom of God.

Finally, this is what the bible states here in Psalm 112

112 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

I have met your types false deceivers, you extract a verse from a text, to deceieve the gullible. When you are analysing scriptures quote the entire text, not extracting to deceieve the unlearned

Jesus did not said that to all the rich men he encounter, He purposely direct such demand to the Young rich.
There was a time one of His rich friend invited him for dinner, which he attend, Yet he did not make such demand from him.

Such demand is usually directed to Jesus close associate, the 12 disciples. Remember Matthew the Tax collector, Peter and Andrew who were middle class get same demand.

Go and read the bible properly.
Jesus did not initiate the conversation rather he responded to questions asked.
He did not say it would be difficult for that rich man but "a rich man" meaning any rich man so please stop talking rubbish
He said it once and that is enough. Is he supposed to repeat it every time he meets a rich man?

I was referring to Verse before the statement

20. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21. Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Statement after it were commentary by Jesus base on the what just happen, and he is using the instances to teach his disciples a cogent lesson of life.

Now let me reverse you back from where you are coming from
aribisala0:

Jesus said sell your property and give to the poor and come and follow me and the man walked away
then Jesus uttered those words.
It still contradicts your prosperity teaching

The above are you words quote, and it means no Christian should be wealthy, but rather sell whatever they have and give for charity, anything other than this is against Jesus teaching, that is just the meaning of you argument.

And am enlightening you that the condition Jesus was giving to the Young rich man sell your property and give to the poor and come and follow me. That is was the rich guy criteria to become Jesus recruit.

Be aware that Jesus did not use follow me for everyone but to those who are ready to be his close associate (disciples)

Matthew 16:24 - Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me

So please take this to the bank
