The only thing you don't understand is this: Using abusive language on elderly people is not a good trait
and is not in our culture.
Although i don't know how old Kunle is but if any of these men of God is old enough to be his brother,
he ought to address them with respect.
Now concerning the matter at hand,I'm neither for or against.Whatever your spirit ask you to do,please do.
My major concern is this:If we notice any man of God going astray what we ought to do is to be praying for such person.
No human being is perfect including you.  And remember "two wrongs can never make a right".
I REST MY CASE. grin
Am so ashamed of you,,,your situation appears to be irredeemable and irrepairable.Keep praying for the likes of Pastor Akingbola,,Revd Eze King etc ,,,,Your situation is one that describes RELIGION as WICKED and PATHETIC,,,,Religion truly is the opium of the people.

For sometime I stopped posting on religion section because of people like you.
Have you ever come across this thread before?

What did you notice about my responses concerning religion?

I stood my ground: Let us pray for those that are in authority either in the secular world
or in the church or in the mosque. Don't forget :"No one is perfect".

END OF DISCUSSION.

@ Kola Oloye, first of all i want to implore you to seek d truth with an open mind and focus on d substance, and not d shadow. Now let's look at some of ur response:
Using abusive language on elderly people
Calling a foolish man a 'fool' or a criminal a 'thief' is definitely not abusive, even if he's older than Methusela. You'll agree with me, Jesus wasn't as old as d pharisees & saducees,  but used very harsh, 'abusive' (according to u) words to describe them- 'vipers, evil, adulterous generation, hypocrites, (mat. 12:34,39, 16:4, 27:18), bind guides, serpents (mat.23:13,16,33)
Now concerning the matter at hand,I'm neither for or against.Whatever your spirit ask you to do,please do.
My major concern is this:If we notice any man of God going astray what we ought to do is to be praying for such person.

U surprise me here trying so hard not to sound 'abusive' who are u afraid of? Do you fear man or God? u have to be for or against, u can't be lukewarm like d church of d Laodiceans (Rev.3:16). You can't do whatever ur spirit tells u to do, but what GOD TELLS U TO DO!
  - Jesus says if u give to d poor, u shall have TREASURE IN HEAVEN (Mat.19:21) and RECEIVE A HUNDRED FOLD RETURN (Mat. 19:29). In contrast, ur 'daddy' Adeboye says 'you get a 100 fold return when u give to d wealthy GO/'High priest', no mention is even made of storing treasures in heaven am i surprised?
  - The brethren in Berea did not pray when Paul preached to them, instead they searched d scriptures to confirm if all what Paul told them were true (Acts17:11).
  - If d black americans & south africans took ur advise and only prayed in d face of oppression by wicked govts, they'll still be in bondage, and u wouldn't be fasting & praying to get a visa to these countries today. And as a reminder, d struggle for freedom in these countries were led by pastors (rev. martin luther king, Rev Desmond Tutu). But here in Naija, we're always enjoined and urged to pray for corrupt, wicked leaders (probably 4 good health & longlife to continue looting & oppressing d pple) by our 'priests & high priests' (Pst Tunde Bakare is an exception in my view though). With this kind of weak, passive & ignorant attitude, is it any wonder why we're where we are as a nation today? -So much POVERTY in d midst of so much ABUNDANCE!!!

^^^^ Charloe!!!!
You stole my thunder right there, couldn't have said it any better. This passivity is what led to the union of the politicos and the "religious leaders" whose mode of operation seems to be the same in their different "businesses"
Re: False teaching in Rccg open heavens devotional by CHARLOE(m): 12:52am On Mar 23, 2010
@ Ogajim, tanx & welldone, but i'll advise u to seek d truth and not just d 'praise & worship'. Jesus Christ advises us to cut-off anything that will lead us astray. Iductrination is a subtle & gradual spiritual poisoning.
Re: False teaching in Rccg open heavens devotional by biina: 3:21am On Mar 23, 2010
I dont think any sound christian would try the defend the issues the OP has raised. The only question is the level of complicity of various members of the church hierarchy e.g. did the GO actually compose and/or vet the said writings or was it someone's brilliant idea to print it in his name to improve sales. At the least, the RCCG hierarchy are guilty of negligence, and anyone who actually reviewed and approved the publication has done a disservice to christianity
Re: False teaching in Rccg open heavens devotional by KunleOshob(m): 7:13am On Mar 23, 2010
@Kola Oloye
I know I sounded abusive, but I had to express my pain and anger at the extent a supposed and well respected man of god has gone to butcher the very same word of god for reasons which are obviously and glaringly greed. I felt pained becos Adeboye was one pastor I felt was genuine, I have since known he is not any better than others using God's name to feed their greed but the antics and new fleecing strategy he introduced in the OP really ticked me off and it has all the trappings of a very fraudulent and greedy character. This fraud I believe must be condenmed in it's totallity and exposed less more people continue to fall for the scam and it becomes indoctrinated in pentecostalism the way tithing became doctrine.

@biina
I was also tempted to make an excuse for Adeboye by trying to suggest that maybe someone wrote it on his behalf, but upon review of the "open heavens" devotional it was glaring that Adeboye wrote it himself as it is highly personalized with lots of examples from Adeboye's personal life experience.
Re: False teaching in Rccg open heavens devotional by biina: 9:11am On Mar 23, 2010
That is sad if he wrote it or it was published with his knowledge.

A common problem in Nigeria is that we seem to find it difficult to point out to people in authority where or when they might have gone wrong. This is different from passing judgment or condemning them. Nobody is perfect, and even Moses made a mistake. The knowledge of right or wrong is not localized to anyone. I wont be surprised if some other members of the church had reservations about the entry and didn't think it right to raise the issue.

Therein lies the problem with Nigeria which if not totally and permanently discredited and abandoned could lead to the demise of the Country as we know it. I am surprised we haven't seen the "touch not my anointed/do my prophet no harm" comments yet, we all have a right to point out the wrongs in our Country and find ways to educate and liberate others from this seeming bondage.

@ogajim, totally agree wit u and still insist pastors are 1 of d major cause of our passive, laid-back, God-will-do-it attitude of Nigerians. Someone said their pastor told them- 'this is not our kingdom so we don't nid to fight 4 our rights' such ignorane dat 'Jesus didn't fight back when persecuted' d height of pple's ignorance sometimes make me want to cry cry Imagine dat!!!

You guys r soo right, what really annoys me is that when u bring this things to their attention they refuse to admit their mistake rather claiming some sort of 'divine revelation' which is at a direct variance with d word of God.So it kinda makes one wonder who gives d revelations.
Re: False teaching in Rccg open heavens devotional by ogajim(m): 12:39pm On Mar 26, 2010
^^ You can bet that "revelation" they claim to receive is not from God, maybe it comes from their mammon god!

Any man that can twist scripture like was done in the OP cannot possibly be of God, it was obviously motivated by greed and it contradicts the teachings of Jesus on giving to the poor and the needy. The most dangerous part of this heresy is that it was published in a influential medium, before you know what is happening the heresy would become standard doctrine in the pentecostal world.

I just had to resurrect this thread.

Pastor E. A. Adeboye said when you sow into a believer's life, you qualify for 30% returns. To a pastor (like Joagbaje) you get 60%. But when you sow into an almighty GO's life (like himself, Pastor Chris and "Bishop" Oyedepo, Odulele, Ashimolowo etc. ), you get 100%. Gbam. No shaking.

He said and I quote,

When you sow into the life of a genuine High priest of God, you do not only get returns in monetary or material forms, but also obtain what money cannot buy. Some people will say, "Our G.O. is very comfortable and does not need what I want to give to him. Let me rather send it to somebody in need." Always remember that when you sow, you are not doing the recipient of that seed a favour, but yourself. Stop robbing yourself of great blessings!

This is woeful, pitiful, pathetic. Brainwashing of the highest order. Before RCCG goons show up on the scene to reply me, please use your heads and tell me if the statement above is not built upon greed and selfishness. Search the Bible for yourselves!

For the same reason, people are drinking garri as they contribute towards buying, maybe, yet another private jet for Oyedepo.

Thanks for this, the problem is that the church pews are jam packed with lazy self indulgent so called born agains, who just cannot be bothered to read their bibles, pray and whole heartedly follow Jesus. That is why they deserve to be deceived.

No case of Snake Oil Salesmanship here:

1 Kings 17:1-16

1Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbea  in Gilead, said to Ahab,
“As the Lord,  the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.”

2Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah:

3“Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.

4You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there.”

5So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.

6The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

7Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

8Lord came to him: 9“Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there.
I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food.” 10So he went to Zarephath

Note this implies both heard from God. The prophet and the woman, she particularly had received an advanced command

When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks.

He called to her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?”

11As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”

12“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug.
I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

Prophet comforts and reassures woman:

Note in sharing of what woman and child have, the prophet's modesty of asking for small and the absence of any psychological tactics or mind manipulations here and

13Elijah said to her, to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said.

But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son."

Prophet then sets woman's mind at rest with this guarantee:

14For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord  gives rain on the land.’”

With a restored confidence woman went away and did as the prophet told her.

Win-win ending for both prophet and woman:

15She went away and did as Elijah had told her.

So there was
food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.

16For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

Just have to love 1 Kings 17:1-16. There were commands, bidirectional. Both parties had commands.

The most of times and 100% one way, it is flesh that is commanding most pastors and those not churchwise easily fall for their type

Did not even know until now that 1 Kings 17:8-16  was even mentioned in the attached

Mmmh ! This was a very interesting thread, much as what was written in the OP shocked me, that a supposed man of GOD could twist the bible in such an amateurish manner(even joagbaje) would not stoop this low. This thread removed all iota of doubt about Adeboye not deliberately misleading and exploiting his followers. Such a write up can only be inspired by selfish greed and no genuine man of God would have the audacity to twist the scriptures so brazenly.

No hiding place for all false prophets/pastors, no matter how humble they pretend to be. The fearful & lazy are easily held captive as usual by the 'touch not my annointed' scare crow, and will be continually decieved. The bible says God has not given us d spirit of fear but of sound mind. Most so-called xtians minds have been held captive by fear & ignorance.
Thank God 4 d internet cos i believe He's using pple who seek d truth to expose these wolves in sheep clothing. Yet some 'stubborn flies insist on following d corpse to d grave in d face of overwhelming evidence to d contrary.
Kudos to all fearless soldiers of christ who seek & speak d truth and refuse to be conned by con-men in suit, refusing to be intimidated by the touch-not-my-annointing' fearful group, even if it means been different from d 'herd mentality' crowd. You know urselves, welldone and God bless.

While reading d daily devotional of d RCCG of wed 17 march, 2010, titled ONE HUNDRED FOLD RETURN, it says pastors are priests, and encourages d reader to always sow in d lives of their priests (pastors) in order 4 dem to get a 60 fold return. It went further to say general overseers (G.O's) are high priests and also ecourages d reader to always sow into d live of their G.O. to get a 100 fold return. It went further to implore the reader not to mind the fact that their G.O.'s have d luxuries of life while sowing into thier lives.

My points of disagreement with the above:
1. I'm yet to see anywhere in d bible that says pastors are priests and general overseers are high priests, instead d scripture says ;ye (children of God) are a holy nation, a royal priesthood'. And we have just 1 high priest- Jesus Christ (cant get d relevant scriptures now but am sure u're familiar with them.)

2. Please where in d scripture does it say if you sow into the live of pastors/'priests' you'll get a 60 fold return, and if you do same to general overseers/'high priest' you get 100 fold returns?

Pls somebody enlighten me on the above, or am I missing something here?

you aren't missing anything bro.....

some actually think God is a money doubler "give me #5 I multiply it to #50". lolz

but the Bible says its more blessed to give than to receive... Christians are priests and Christ is high priest ...

the issue is this --- a lot of modern Nigerian churches don't teach scriptures, they teach doctrines of men....

the early churches lived in poverty, I'm not justifying poverty ... yet the Bible says we should work ... not pay tithe to expect doubling ....

It's only as administrative illustration . That doesn't mean he's referring to them as our high priests . Look at the scripture below For example

Exodus 7:1
And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet

Was Moses a god? Was Aaron a prophet no? But administrative Illlustration . It simply means Moses will speak through Aaron just as God speaks through a prophet

These kind of messages are rampant where mammon has replaced God in such a church.

Unbridled thirst for temporary wealth without considering the fact that the treasures of today ends up becoming the trash of tomorrow.

The pursuit of fleeting pleasures at the expense of eternal treasures and development of God-given talents is the biggest form of stupidity I've seen in the commercialized church of God where they preach God's blessings is for sale to the highest tither or bidder (seed-sower).

To all the charlatans trading in the temple of God...Jesus is preparing your special whip to chase you out and overthrow your trading tables angry
