Twenty-one out of the 42 ministers who were fired from the Nigerian administration last week could be making their way back to power, according to some influential media outlets in the West African country. The names would be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation this week.
The upper legislative chamber may screen the nominees by Thursday, according to the This Day newspaper.

Among those to return are former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Odein Ajumogobia; former Attorney-General of the Federation and Justice Minister Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN); Chief Ojo Maduekwe who took charge of Foreign Affairs in the dissolved cabinet; Prof. Dora Akunyili who earlier manned the Information Ministry; and Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke who was in the Ministry of Solid Minerals.

Others are former Minister of Finance Mansur Muhtar; and his former Minister of State Remi Babalola; former Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC) Sani Ndanusa; Godsday Orubebe formerly Minister of State for Niger Delta; and Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin who was Minister of Health in the dissolved cabinet.

Allison-Madueke and Orubebe are said to be the only nominees of Jonathan in the dissolved cabinet of ailing President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. Some of the retained ministers may retain their portfolios in the dissolved cabinet while others may take on new assignments.

Yes o. The king is dead; long live the king.
Nothing has changed. Same old faces, they were just given a long deserved break from National looting.
Talk of Jonathan being a reformist is pure BS.

Nigeria is  the main destination of the world in  eco friendly initiatives with 100% success rate of making sure nothing is classified as waste but it is happily recycled be it government positions, boko haram , Jos mayhem, bank scandals, election riggers,ex-military official, and many more environment saving activites

I Love this country.

Fantastic piece.
Imagine same old faces and names basically since independence in 1960.
If its not them directly its their children, relatives, friends or associates. A small cycle ruling millions of people.
I know same applies in most democracies but ours have been non- or under- performing and they keep recycling themselves.
How pathetic.

Rilwanu Lukman must never come back.Reason: Unable to solve the problem of fuel scarcity and high cost of petroleum products.
Likewise Sam Egwu. Reason: For keeping our undergraduates at home for more than 3 months on ASUU strike and for the dismal performance of our students during the last WAEC and NECO Exams. The worst was the Nov/Dec NECO Exam of last year that had 98% of the candidates failing the exam and only 2% passing the exam.

Influential media outlets like?? ? ? ?
A tad disappointing that some people would be soo quick to believe anything. Has news become so scarce that we have to start debating on speculation?
