The main issue in Zimbabwe is the economy
Zimbabwe was once referred to as the food basket of the continent
****The Zimbabwean economy is bad because of years of sanctions by western powers.
****This sanctions were imposed on Zimbabwe as a result of Mugabe's party economy policy to take away farm land from white farmers and give them to black farmers. ( in that case take back 90% of the land controlled by less than 10% of the population )
The policy has been deeply popular in rural Zimbabwe for so long, where Mugabe's party enjoys nearly 100% support till today.
Now the proposed change of power raise many questions
1) will Mugabe's successor return the farms to the white farmers (in that case returning 90% of the land to less than 10% of the population ) to have the economy sanctions lifted
2) Are black Zimbabweans ready to allow the economy to be controlled by whites again just to have " bread and butter" like a CNN report on Zimbabwe suggest
The answer to these questions and more is the solution to the problem in Zimbabwe not the removal of the aged president 2 Likes 1 Share |

All what this goes to show is that Mugabe has got the total, absolute and unalloyed loyalty of the Army. in fact, the military sees him more of a fatherly figure than a President! This is the first coup in Africa, as far as I Know, that the coup plotters won't be eager to take power and throw the deposed leader into Prison. in fact, they still defer to Mugabe on what and what to do...Whoa! For the sake of stability, both Mnangagwa and Grace Mugabe should not be allowed to take power and Mugabe should be allowed to compete his term which ends in 2018. Why not propose he rule for life ? Why place the limit at 2018 ? |

This confirm my suspicion that mugabe arranged this whole thing for reasons best known to him. though he has overstayed
in power but he is a very wise man you can not take that away from him. As his tenue
ends next year he is trying to make arrangements not to hand over power to those he perceived are so desperate for it

its best for mugabe to resign and restructure the country into a good part. if he misuse this chance he will regret it.
