2019: Atiku's Potential Running-mates? by PDPGuy: 9:18am On Nov 29, 2017 |
Following the latest news that former vice-president Atiku Abubakar has decamped to the PDP from the APC, rumors are making the rounds that he is interested in running for president in 2019. So, if Atiku eventually runs for the highest office in the land, who are the men of timbre and caliber that would make a potential vice-presidential short list? For me, folks like Chukwuma Soludo, Peter Obi, Rep. Nkiru Onyejeocha, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Oseloka Obaze, and Bianca Ojukwu, have the necessary gravitas and public sector experience to be Atiku's running mate. 1 Like |

From my list, the "non politicians" are clearly Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Bianca Ojukwu, and Oseloka Obaze. These people are mostly known for their exploits outside politics as either technocrats or diplomats (in the case of Ojukwu). Picking one of these individuals may be the safe choice for Atiku because it is most likely that none of them would be ambitious enough to aim for the control of the party structure, much like Atiku was in control of PDP from 1999-2003. |

who are the men of timbre and caliber that would make a potential vice-presidential short list Lol...no be only timbre and caliber, na plywood and sawdust. The igbo interest lies in 2023 and not 2019 and as such, we are supporting Buhari in 2019. Any igbo son/daughter that aligns with Atiku is doing that for his/her own selfish ambition. Why would Okonj-Iweala be a VP to Atiku when she can run the affairs of the country herself? Does Atiku have more pedigree than Peter Obi? Why would we settle for the VP slot when we can have the presidency seat by exercising patience for 4 more years? 3 Likes 1 Share |

manuelzz:They dont have choice because presidency is coming back to the south and SW and SS have tasted presidency already. You can also start by building bridges.stop abusing them and buhari. Do you even think they will support Igbo man VP or seeing people who call them born to rule, cows, zoo animals, aboki, gambari and wish buhari death championing Atiku presidency against buhari? |

Someone with a minimum degree of doctorate should act as running mate |
Re: 2019: Atiku's Potential Running-mates? by MaziOmenuko: 11:57am On Nov 29, 2017 |
manuelzz: What determines that is our collective stand in 2019; if we support and stand with Buhari, then power returns to south in 2023 and we stand a better chance. The North supported an OBJ presidency and also supported GEJ when they believed GEJ was going to respect his gentleman agreement and do just one tenure. 1 Like 1 Share |

MaziOmenuko: I pity u. So u think rest of country will just go and vote Ibo fit presidency. U are in dream land. In 2023 the best u will get is VP. Is better to hold Wat u c how. Align with atiku and get VP start from somewhere. Ibis don't have the voting power and majority of Nigerians don't trust them after so much hate speech.. Be wise hold on to VP Now. Thinking of 2023 )presidency is a scam.... 1 Like |

Op You forgot to add OBJ to your list. That fellow remains the BEST running mate for Atiku,I assure you. They only just have to beg him to come out of his self-imposed political hibernation. But if Atiku can't get OBJ,he should just try and approach Shekau, that guy sure has clout. Convince him that democrazy isn't such a terrible idea and see every thing fall into place. My 5 quid. |

Obaze doesn't have electoral value, while Soludo lacks broad based appeal in the SE. The best candidate I reckon would be Okonjo Iweala, as she is perhaps the most prominent South Easterner alive; she would also get the Women to queue behind her in tandem with block votes from the SE. |

manuelzz:Thanks my friend for that question,,i know deep down in me that north will never support Igbo presidency because of their secession plans,,and having an Igbo presidency is just a quick answer to that demand that they av being craving for..Though we yorubas are not afraid if Nigeria breaks only the north have every cause to worry.. |
