Police Quiz Cele Pastors

Following the Supreme Court judgment which bars forbids the appointment of a new pastor for the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide, the police in Lagos have invited all those claiming to be pastors of the church to its headquarters for interrogation.

P.M.NEWS gathered that prominent leaders of the church and the self-acclaimed pastors of the church, including Pastors Josiah Kayode Owodunni of CCC, Ijeshatedo Parish; Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, Paul Suru Maforikan, Steven Erubase Orhovboni, Godwin Bolanle Shonekan and Edward Olayiwola Oladokun have been invited to the police command.

Investigations revealed that some of them heeded the police invitation and had made useful statements to the police on the leadership crisis rocking the church.

Pastor Suru Maforikan of CCC, it was learnt, honoured the police invitation recently and explained all he knew about the leadership tussle in the church.

Pastor Owodunni was scheduled to appear before the police last week, but it was not certain if he honoured the invitation as at the time of filing this report.

A police source, who gave P.M.NEWS a statement directing the Assistant Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) to monitor the activities of the so-called pastors, explained to P.M.NEWS that the title of pastor was exclusively for the office of the overall leader of the church.

“As it is now, what is supposed to be the right of one person has been bastardised through duplication.

“Apart from the blatant disobedience to the Supreme Court order, all of them have succeeded in destroying the traditional institution of shepherds and church workers by anointing members into the sacred positions of church workers such as Most, Snr. Evangelists and Superior Evangelists in honourary capacity thereby creating problems within the rank and file.

“Although anointment in the church is supposed to be carried out once in a year in December, these self-acclaimed pastors perform this exercise throughout the year and will take the exercise abroad contrary to the laid down directive of the founder of the church,” he stated.

These problems are largely due to the untimely death of Oshoffa . , . .also a big lesson to all. . . . .always leave room for succession as success without succession is failure.

Used to be cele but left in 2005. Since pastor Badas death in 2000 things hav gone bad in cele with d likes of Jesse,Agbaosi,maforikan,owodunni etc. May God intervene. The irony of these crises is that despite d travails,the promise of God to the founder in 1947 When the eclipse occured remains intact.That the church would wax strong in every part of the world.After Cms,Anglican,Methodist,Cac, Cele is another church that before u move 20-30km in Lagos u will find a parish. i.e come rain come shine,the promises of God never fails.When men fails,God remains firm.To God alone be all the glory till eternity.

Not at all.Oshoffa was clear on what criteria that should be used to select a successor i.e holy spirit would choose.How Bada emerged is still a mystery.Since Bada took over in 85/86 the prob started till today.

Oshoffa's statement was rather ambiguous. . . .since celestial boasts of over 1 million prophets/prophetesses many of whom are false. . . .and since they give contradicting counsels , . . . how then does one know what the HS is saying concerning the leadership?
Do u know that all those claiming the leadership position of the church, claim to have received revelation from the HS?. . . , who then is lying?

Bada to the best of my knowledge caused no problem. . . . .he just was not accepted by some others who considered him inferior and wanted to upstage his leadership.

I dont think that the present crisis is outside of God's knowledge. . . . .within this crisis is the hand of God with a way out and a solution.
I have learnt to see crises as God's way of fine-tuning His generals. I have no solution to profer.

The various leadership problems and the bad image that CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST has been experiencing are certainly a very shameful thing for a church that's supposed to be a spiritual church.

Worse still is the fact that 'CELE', a church supposed to be the LAST BOAT OF SALVATION for mankind is now believed by some to have become a wordly church where politics and deception reign supreme.

These however, are not the plans of God for His church (CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST).

God Himself is the owner of the church through Christ Jesus and He is certainly going to clean up His church to rid it of those bad eggs that are producing such a terrible stench and soiling the image and reputation of the church in the mud.

These bad eggs comprise the following:
1. Self acclaimed Pastors
2. Self chosen Shepherds that God hasn't called who therefore seek occultic powers from the underworld
3. Fake Prophets and Prophetesses who promote falsehood and mislead innocent worshippers
4. Half baked converts with fetish backgrounds who still go back from time to time to their fetish practices

The true CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST would have nothing to do with all such bad eggs as it is a pure spiritual church by God's divine design.

The leadership tussle going on in the church was never meant to be in the first place where it not for the selfishness and greed of the affected parties, because the written CONSTITUTION clearly states that the SUCCESSOR to the FOUNDER was going to be CHOSEN by God, just as the founder was himself chosen of by God.

One unique thing about the work of God is that the ASSIGNMENT CHOOSES YOU. You don't choose God's assignment!

From Biblical examples, the underlisted people were chosen for their divine assignments, they didn't choose their divine purposes:

1. Father Abraham
2. Noah
3. Moses
4. Samuel (even as a baby at the Temple at Shiloh in Eli's care)
5. King Saul
6. King David
7. King Solomon (who, even though was of highly questionable birth, was chosen to build God's holy temple.)
8. John the Baptist (chosen before he was even conceived in the womb, same for Samson the Strongman of Israel)
9. Jesus' twelve Disciples
10. Paul the Apostle (even though he was an anti-Christ at the time, got converted and worked fearlessly for Christ, more than any Apostle or Disciple in history!)

11. So many Judges and Prophets of great exploits, male and female alike, mentioned in the Bible too numerous to mention here.

Most of the people chosen by God are people who either are not exactly happy about it so they start hiding or running away from the task e.g Moses, Jonah
or they are simply inappriopriate because of their stinking background e.g Rahab the Harlot, King Solomon.
But God always has His ways of refining people for His purposes.

Anyone who goes about proudly and arrogantly brandishing himself as a Pastor or Evangelist has probably self-chosen himself.

The God of CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST will certainly choose a Pastor for His church in His own way and at His own time. Who knows, he could even be that boy on your street still in Primary school!
