Simple question why was it exclusively borrowed for the payment of salaries If there was a vibrant economy?

US govt borrows to pay salaries till date, is their economy not vibrant?

Will you stop lying.

The US government would never borrow to pay wages. They would rather raise income tax and tariffs.

Stop being naive and ignorant, governance in US shuts down anytime the Senate refuses to raise the debt ceiling, because the borrowings are used to pay wages and keep govt running.

Why was Okonjo-Iweala borrowing money to pay salaries?

Why did she say we were headed for a tough time?

Borrowing does not mean a recession, a company can borrow without necessarily be bankrupt or insolvent.

Tough times means a decrease in governments forex earnings and revenue and not a negative growth across board in all the economic sectors.

2 bags of rice were delivered to me from Abakaliki at 11K each. Husk free, stone free, fresh and purely organic. Keep wasting your money consuming poison in the name of foreign rice; like the ones I saw being off loaded from cement carrying Dangote truck last Wednesday at Mile 3 market. These are discarded grains that have stayed for months and even years in horrible unhygienic conditions before getting to our market.
Apart from the unhealthy nature of these imported rice, have you asked yourself what it cost Nigeria to import those rice you bought at one naira. You wasted your foreign exchange importing rice that we can produce here in Nigeria, thereby hurting our economy while boosting that of other countries as well as creating jobs for their citizens while ours remain unemployed.
But you know what, local rice production has skyrocketed and keeps doing so. People are making money from rice production; you can go and see what is happening in Ebonyi state. Also there has been a drastic decline in rice importation. For people like you who still prefer the imported rice, no wahala just pay whatever you're asked to pay and don't come here to claim that the price has not depreciated after all imported rice is contraband.
Nigeria's case would have been like that of Venezuela (where in the quest for popularity, their president became a father Christmas just like our Jonathan) now but thank God, the waste is being tackled as people are now looking inwards. Of course this comes with some pains but that is the sacrifice we must make for better tomorrow, something we would have done way back.
It can only get better.
God bless Nigeria.
Will upload the picture of the Rice, can't do it now

All this epistle to support local rice and current price regime? Well, if u aren't aware, local rice is between 14-15k. how is that even better considering the fact that it was way cheaper in jonathans administration?

Buhari once chose Umezoke (Igbo) and Okadigbo ( Igbo) ad Vice Presidential candidates. Remember?

that was part of his games - the man is a superb deceptionist.

rmber he gave us the impression that he is a poor man. drinks sachet milo like the poor, borrowed money from the bank to pay for his presidential nomination ticket, doesn't own any house in abuja - but now we know. . .

now we know all his children schooled abroad.
now we know he owns houses in asokoro and other choice areas in abuja - and anybody that tries to reveal the locations get killed.
now we know he is a major shareholder at union bank and some other banks.
now we know there was truly a missing US26 billion when he was a minister of petroleum
now we know he owns mega houses in dubai and turkey
now we know that majority of his cronies are looters
now we know that US$26 billion just got stolen
now we know that he is a mega bigot!
now we know he deserves an oscar for deception
now we know he derives joy in killing his fellow country men that doesn't agree with him
now we know better!
