This is one of the great attributes of a dependable power supply; A straight forward responsibility that the government have failed at, it has a F on any sane person's scorecard. It is not funny anymore that a country like Nigeria does not have light/electricity. How is this so? I boil it down to a very bad leadership, tribalism, religion, and cultism in universities. Even with electricity issue solved, quality of education is still lagging against every other continent and half of Africa. We have to get serious as a society.
