What you need to do is a FBC (FULL BLOOD COUNT)

FBC is used to check an individual's General health..

Yes it will detect the problem

How much...it shouldn't be more than #3,000 at a good laboratory

@luizmendezgrant
I think what he needs may be more than a full blood count. An FBC is used to assay the blood for infective agents (bacterial, viral, allergens etc) and also to know the blood adequacy. Luiz hasn't told us as much as we need to know with regards his health so I'd advice he visits the hospital as you mentioned earlier and interract with a doctor.
He would also need to do microscopy for malaria parasite as he may be having treatment failure malaria.
We would also be interested in one or two other tests like blood culture for possible infections, urinalysis and widal for typhoid.
A full blood count costs 500naira in the lab of the hospital where I work , though its a government Hosp. Generally. It shouldn't cost more than 1k5 even in private labs, except you wanna also do a peripheral blood film

Not all treatments for malaria and typhoid are effective. Visit the hospital, lay your complaints to the doctor and he would determine which tests are best for you. I ccould mention a motley of tests which I think are nnecessary from my clinical experience but Iwwouldn't be doing justice to your condition
