As far as I'm concerned Ortom is better than Akume. Akume is the bigger devil here, he is using Ortom to place Benue State under siege.

According to sources in Wannune, the Parish Priest , Reverend Father Ashwe, did not allow the Governor to make his speech on the issue of non payment of salaries in the State.
Fr Ashwe said, during service, there was no way the governor would be allowed to talk.

Ashwe further explained to his people that the governor has failed to pay workers salaries thus causing hardship to workers in the State.

Akume had spoken at the thanksgiving mass and gave the microphone to Ortom to make a speech about the situation of things in Benue but Rev Father Ashwe did not allow the governor make his remarks, asking him to wait until they get to the reception venue where he could lie to the people about salary issues and other matters as much as he wanted. Ashwe added that he would not allow Ortom to stand in God’s house to deceive the people again.

Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor has however released a statement saying there is no rift between the governor and the Gboko Catholic diocese.

What kind of nonsense are people saying here. Praising the priest because of his reactionary stance to failed political leadership and berating other church leaders particularly the pentecostal ones as self serving. All well and good but short memories have forgotten certain pentecostal leaders were politically vocal a couple of years ago with warnings but they were shouted down and derided as being politically opposed to the present government. That was at a time when most Nigerians were swayed by political propaganda and swept off their feet by love stories. Fast forward two and a half years.

Now that it has all turned to dust the Pentecostal leaders are being accused of silence and connivance....honestly Nigerians deserve applied suffering to build sustainable layers of positive mentality. We are so fickle minded and boast retentive memories no better than a 3 month old baby. They have forgotten all the warnings of 2015. It is after the politicians have slapped them silly that mental bulbs are lighting up.

If you're familiar with the politics of benue state you'll know that Gov. Ortom is just a puppet. The puppet master is Sen. Akume. So it was a wrong action against the wrong person. The priest just dabbled into what he doesn't have a full grip of.
