Dora Akunyili retains her job as Minister of Information in the new cabinet and John Odey returns to the Environment ministry.

Odein Ajumogobia is named Nigeria's Foreign Affairs minister; Dieziani Allison-Madueke becomes Petroleum Minister while Fidelia Njeze is named Aviation Minister.

Idi Hong is minister of state for Health, while Shamsudeen Usman remains Minister of National Planning.

Diezaini will run down whatever gains we have made in the petroleum industry. Will she go and continue crying there when those NNPC engineers and IOCs try to frustrate her, I would have preferred Lukman retainin that job than passing it over to her.

The circus show continues. With the way Nigerians complained about the Information Ministry role given to Akunyili by Yar Adua, one would have expected Jonathan to offer her another post. Then the Petroleum Ministry to Diezani? Jonathan may be appearing to us as a joker. This is a woman who has headed two ministries in the recent past without any meaningful impact. One would have expected the new minister from Edo State to be appointed to head the Petroleum Ministry who many say is a technocrat and has the wherewithal to withstand whatever pressure from the IOCs having retired as an executive director in NNPC with loads of cognate experience.

I don tire to dey put mouth for inside FG matter.
Its a whole load of rubbish that goes on in Abuja.

Decentralisation of power and electoral reform
should be the clarion call for us progressives.

Many of the State governors might be thieves but many
of them have also shown what can be done with a government
closer to the people.
