This is madness.

What is South Africa coming to.

There was another far more violent incident, as per below.

That country is sitting on a bomb.
I dont see them moving very far with this attitude.
the division in the country is almost visible with whites hating blacks
That hatred manifested as xenophobia where backward blacks wielded the most barbaric hiv infested hands and brains to inflict untold damage on unsuspecting citizens of other countries.
that country still needs Jesus!
This time, no nigerian woman will donate their wrapper like my grandmother did in the seventies
neither will our government send teachers, food and relief materials

useless ungrateful south africa

This Malema dude is pretty much an illiterate that enjoys being in the spotlight
I suggest the media stop covering the buffoon

As for South Africa, they know what they need to do,
Sideline the extremists both right and left wing

They should stop giving airtime to ppl like this or the right wing white supremacists.
The country will survive, unless they are silly enough to elect someone like Malema in the future
then all bets are off. . .

I am so sure he was intimidated by whatever question they were about to ask him, from what i saw i don't think any unnecessary question was asked, as for the white guy in frosbel's link, well he should remember the fate of his brother some days ago
Re: Julius Malema Called A Bbc Reporter A "Bastar..." by Beaf: 4:13am On Apr 09, 2010
It is good for that BBC clown. They think black people are inferior to them and always want to stick their noses in our business as if there is still a British Empire.
A couple of years back they had the apartheid flag on their Africa News homepage; I wrote a couple of heartfelt complaints to them, but they were ignored and the apartheid flag remained on the front page in defiance to Africa and who we are.

To hell with the BBC. They are the most backward and snotty media house in the whole of the UK. After the fake Yar'Adua interview we should really be giving them short shrift for wanting to negatively influence our internal affairs. Thats the same thing they are going to do in South Africa, they aren't concerned at the extremely racist attitudes of terryblanche who was deservedly beaten to death, instead they want to chase the ANC, a revolutionary party that fought apartheid and won.

A lot of us as black people don't know where we stand or have the nerve to defend our identity. If anybody is accusing Malema of singing "kill the boer" what of Manadela? He sings it too. Can they hound him? What about their fellow whites? They sing it too. This is proof;

Ask any Xhosa person what that song means if you are in any doubt. The BBC thinks it can take out ANC's youth wing, thats what this is about.

More detailed report

Malema’s outburst against a BBC journalist

In an astonishing attack, the ANC Youth League’s president today called a BBC journalist a “bastard” and an ”agent”.
Julius Malema was addressing the media on the ANCYL’s recent visit to Zimbabwe. He criticised Zimbabwean opposition party the Movement for Democratic Change, saying they should go back to Zimbabwe instead of working from offices in Sandton, Johannesburg.
British Broadcasting Corporation journalist Jonah Fisher interjected, saying Malema lived in Sandton — unleashing a barrage of insults.
“This is a building of a revolutionary party and you know nothing about revolution so here you behave or else you jump,” he said, speaking from Luthuli House in the Johannesburg CBD.
Fisher attempted to respond, but Malema did not relent.
“Chief, can you get security to remove this thing here?” he requested of staff present on Luthuli House’s 11th floor, the venue for most party media briefings.
“If you are not going to behave we are going to call security to take you out. This is not a newsroom this, this is a revolutionary house and you don’t come here with your white tendency. Don’t come here with that white tendency, not here, you can do it somewhere else.
“If you’ve got a tendency of undermining blacks even where you work you are in the wrong place.”
To which Fisher replied: “That’s rubbish.”
Malema then asked him to leave saying: “,  Rubbish is what you have covered in that trouser, that is rubbish.”
“You are a small boy, you can’t do anything. Bastard, go out, you bloody agent.”
The BBC declined to comment when contacted after the briefing.
The attack was preceded by a general one on the media by Malema.

Malema's response was a bit overboard but I think the reporter was also being mischievous with his interjection.
Re: Julius Malema Called A Bbc Reporter A "Bastar..." by Kobojunkie: 5:40am On Apr 09, 2010
What? Journalists can't make say anything anymore?

This incident has nothing to do with BLACKS AND WHITES. This is about Malema's reaction to a journalist who happens to be white. I have liived in Sandton and so see nothing in him stating that Malema lived in Sandton. The reaction from Malema was uncalled for, and rude.

What has Malema living in Sandton got to do with him asking MDC to stop campaigning from Sandton and go back to Zimbabwe?
The interjection was irrelevant and simply mischievous.

We only got a bit of the session to work. Whatever the reason for the interjection, I do not believe Malema had to go as far as he did. He could have simply asked what that information had to do with what he said. Not descend to the level that he did. People get interjected every day. This man went too far.

Again this is not a BLACK ON WHITE issue. This is a racist with anger issues loosing his temper when he ought not to.

Its obvious Malema has issues and simply seized the opportunity to make some racist remarks. I just dont think the reporter was innocent.
Won't be surprised if there was an history between Malema and that reporter/bbc/white journalists.
Whichever it is quite entertaining grin grin grin

Re: Julius Malema Called A Bbc Reporter A "Bastar..." by Kobojunkie: 6:28am On Apr 09, 2010
Well, it could be, but still, for a public rep speaking of revolution, his response was simply gross, and racist. It is not easy work getting information.  Journalists are known as some of the rudest out there, and for many it seems the only way to get their interviewee to open up.  The journalist probably touched a nerve but the response was still uncalled for.  I could never vote to have that man back up there. He acted like an illiterate.

Malema calls for apology

Fri, 09 Apr 2010

ANC Youth League president Julius Malema said on Thursday night that he was not "remorseful" over chasing BBC journalist, Jonah Fisher, from a media briefing.

"We are not remorseful on our stance (sic) and will never be remorseful about disrespectful journalists; particularly [those] from countries whose media always undermine the credibility and integrity of African leaders," Malema said in a statement.

Malema said he had been provoked by Fisher's comments.

"In the process answering to questions, a white guy, whom we later discovered is a reporter from the British Broadcasting Corporation, interjected when we were expressing the disgust over the fact that [Zimbabwe's] Movement for Democratic Change is throwing insults at the ANC Youth League leadership from air-conditioned offices in Sandton, whilst the masses are on the ground in Zimbabwe."

"He, in a very scornful way responded saying 'but you stay in Sandton'."

Malema said he became "agitated" when Fisher did not back down.

He said, though, that the youth league would be willing to talk to Fisher if he wanted to apologise.

"Our doors are however open for engagement with the journalist if he intends to render an apology and we will from there decide what will happen."
Julius slams media

Malema also lashed out at the way the media reported on the incident.

"We are disturbed on how most media houses have portrayed a distorted picture on what exactly happened. They presented a picture that we just responded to the journalists without provocation and that is mischievous."

He said the youth league would defend free speech and media freedom but that it "should be expressed within certain confines".

"We respect the rights of journalists to openly engage on whatever issue they deem suitable, but they should not be disrespectful."

The National Press Club will, meanwhile, host a summit in Sandton on Friday to discuss the incident at the media briefing.

"The National Press Club will on Friday host a summit to discuss a way forward following Malema's handling of the media," chairman Yusuf Abramjee said in a media advisory.

See the despicable goat is trying to pull all of ANC down with him. I hope the ANC, and other people out there do not swallow this up and start some rant about the BBC being racist or something. This crude element disgraced himself by showing how uneducated and uncooth he is as a person, and ought to be thrown out - replaced by someone more competent and controlled.

The issue of land rights is one that unites South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is a very touchy issue for the ANC and both countries and any journalist should have enough sense to be tactful about those issues. It is quite clear that the BBC openly sides with the MDC. . . it is not in their interest to continue attempting to influence African affairs. We aren't colonies anymore.

That is because some Nigerians like to lick the white man's backside. Uncle Toms is the term that should be used for them. I have no problem with what Julius Malema has said.

I'm surprised you said this. How can any sane man support this kind of attitude that's so disgraceful? An unwarranted outburst devoid of any civility from someone who called himself a leader? Someone who is stirring up emotions that could lead to a wave of genocide? All these incitements are uncalled for unless you support violence against other people. Revolution in SA is over; he should be focussed on moving the country forward.

I mean, this guy should be dealt with before it is too late.
