The All Progressives Congress, APC has declared its support for the President's move to subsidize fuel following the recent fuel scarcity rocking the country.

Speaking with Guardian, the party's national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party believes the development is in the 'best interest' of Nigerians adding that 'tough decisions eventually have to be made'. The statement read;

"The thing is that these are tough choices that government would have to make. Either choice you make comes with its own costs, either economic or political. At the end of the day, the government has to take the best decision in the interest of the people.The issue of subsidy became a problem in the previous regime because of the corruption associated with it.

If you followed the conversation around January 2012 on the removal of fuel subsidy, you would have realized that Nigerians were opposed to the action at the time. They kicked against it because people were making money out of it to the detriment of the nation. It was the fraudulent implementation of subsidy that Nigerians were fundamentally opposed to, and not the subsidy itself.

So the decision to retain subsidy, we believe, is in the overall interest of Nigerians. It is to also ensure we don’t put unnecessary burden on our people".

PDP shame! I know their thought was that the president will increase the pump price of PMS(fuel) so it can be used as campaign strategy for 2019 presidential election, Alas, APC is wiser by beating them to their own game. Let them think of another thing because the issue of fuel is settled and herdsmen problems too will soon be a thing of the past. Orchestrating problems for the citizenry to score cheap political point should be done away with, taking us back to the stone age politics of divide and rule. We say NO.

You are a typical zombie. If government decision is based on 2019 election and not for the overall good of the people, then u are even more stupid celebrating it. The implication is that he is only deceiving people just to get support for 2019. As soon as he is elected, he will remove subsidy just like he did in 2015, even after promising fuel will be sold at 40 naira during the campaigns.
As for you are just like a floater in the middle of the ocean. Wherever it pleases the waves if pushes u and u are pleased with it.
U better go and borrow sense.

Oh! So AFeeCee (APC) now believes in subsidy! The best and worst of politicians is stil a politician. Rather than be pragmatic with a definite timeframe for getting our refineries up and running at full capacity, they have chosen the lee-way of subsidy. God cannot continue to bless these heartless set of politicians...........your guess as to what God should mete out to them is as good as mine

Why does every APC publicity secretary has to have "liar" in their names.

The subsidy they condemned years ago is what they are going back to.

Bigger shame on a man and party that said there was nothing like subsidy. Shame on a party that attacked Bart Nnaji and gej for protecting power installations with security agents, so they could vandalise installations and call gej bad, when Nigerians knew power had improved.

Shame on a party that pressured a performing minister, Bart, to resign for something that has even become a norm in this present administration. Big shame on a man and party that said Nigerians would pay #45 a litre for fuel, but later increased it to #145 a litre. You pay so much instead of less and You're excited, even after the promise of a refinery.

Shame on a party that used #200m to cut grass and still wanted to keep d man in office, if not for pressure from d populace. Shame on a party that criticised everything d last administration did, but came in and copied everything they criticised and more because of cluelessness.

Shame on a party that watch its citizens being slaughtered like cows and pay them no visit, yet plan a rally in abia state to sing and dance for a fruitless course. I can go on and on, but your only fear and concern for the rudderless govt and party to continue isn't cos they provide good governance, but because of the shame u will feel cos u campaigned for them and now they have failed woefully or maybe cos u have a stake in it.

Let go of your shame and look at the big picture. Nigeria is bigger than a party or any man!
