Teachers have been directed to down tools in ten states where they are currently been owed salary arrears.



The states include, Abia, Adamawa, Bayelsa, Benue, Delta, Ekiti, Kogi, Ondo, Kwara and Taraba states.



The General Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, Dr Mike Ike-Ene who described the ten states as “Chronic Debtors” said their members have been told not to resume work until all arrears were settled.



According to him Abia state owes primary school teachers four months and secondary school teachers are being owed one month, Adamawa owes two months to primary school teachers and one month to secondary school teachers.



He said “Bayelsa owes the primary school teachers seven and half months while secondary school teachers are owed four and half months”.



“Benue owes primary school teachers 12 months while secondary school teachers are owed seven months”.

“Ekiti owes eight months to primary school teachers and five months to secondary schools, Kogi owes primary school teachers three months and secondary schools are owed three months too.



Other states include “Taraba; Six months to primary school teachers, Delta; four months to primary school and one month to secondary”.



“Kwara and Ondo owe teachers three and four months’ salary arrears of 2016 respectively” he explained

Jesus FAYOSE 8 month and secondary schools 5 month. And no any meaningful infrastructural development in the state. And YAHAYA BELLO of kogi state 3 months and some illiterate will be claiming YAHAYA BELLO never pay teachers salary since he came as governor

My sister is a teacher, their November and December salaries were cleared on 22nd December 2017.

Stop this your cheap blackmail, everything is not politics. Rochas is not owing anybody!
