From what the lawyer said in the video, the demolition is not linked to a corruption case as supposed by the writeup, it had to do with town planning. But he also claimed that they followed due process.

Buhari setting Nigeria back since independence. Isn't government supposed to take over the said property, is there wisdom in this?? Sheer waste of resources. This Government is on a personal vendetta.

[quote author=FarahAideed post=64312952]Very good precedence so all the ones built by Aisha and her Children will also be demolished when their dull father is sent back to Daura [/quote

This government is very vindictive! There is hunger in the land and all they can think of is demolition

Surely that building will have people in it employ undecided

If court finds her guilty, why not cease the property instead of destroying our hard earned money undecided

Buhari, I hope you are going on exile after you step down

They destroyed it bcoz ders a possibility of the case been thrown out in d Supreme Court. Remember the case was won only in d appeal court. Smetyn dey could have converted to living quarters for civil servants. A govt dat doesn't care about it's people.

This Government is yet to have sense, why demolished such an edifice.

Why not use the building for other purpose to generate revenue for the Government.
Foolish decision.

This people are heartless, why didn't they enter into plea bargain with her...so Jonathan has done wrong for handing over voluntarily? Is this how to encourage patriotism ? What if she had taken the money out to invest like others ..this is the height of wickedness
Re: Patience Jonathan’s Building Demolished In Abuja (Video, Photo) by Originalsly: 8:50pm On Jan 18, 2018
If the court ordeed the forfeiture of the property...it means she was guilty of something... so why wasn't she sentenced? ....and if forceited..why demolish?....isn't there a need for housing or office space?

Yoruba adage captured this episode very well..."the house that was built with saliva...will be pulled down by dews!"

it is a shame that this woman stole as never before in the history of corruption in Nigeria..while his husband was just watching helplessly

and smiling...Tufiakwa!!.....if u hate the greedy act of corruption of siphoning our commonwealth..then,..share..if u support corruption..cry like a

cat! with your crocodile tears....

Opinionated:
These are not the happiest of times for Nigeria’s former first lady, Patience Jonathan after the Court of Appeal (Lagos Division) on Friday upheld an order of interim forfeiture to the federal government of $5.8 million ($5,842,316) and N2.4 billion (N2,421,953,522) traced her bank accounts, the Development Control Department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Tuesday allegedly demolished her building in Abuja.

Watch the video of the building before and after demolition as her lawyer speaks on this new ordeal of his client.

L

that is a very foolish decision, who gave the order for it to be demolished ? Why not convert it to a Government facility. It goes to show how clueless and stupid this govt is.

The government is saying it is a property built illegally against Abuja planning laws.

Instead of spending money to demolishing why didn't the government used it to generate revenue or better still convert it something else.

That's how some cars confiscated by the authorities were destroy instead of selling the cars.

Nigerians are so crude in their dealings.
Re: Patience Jonathan’s Building Demolished In Abuja (Video, Photo) by Rasdagama: 10:57am On Jan 19, 2018
Is demolishing the building the right thing to do? What happens to the land thereafter?
