STOP USING HERDSMEN ATTACKS AS CHEAP BLACKMAIL AGAINST OUR IN-LAW: -OSUN F'ATIKU CHIDES PROPAGANDISTS

Nobody knows a man better than his in-law for decades. So, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar our close in-law for 46 years, whose first wife is our daughter, (married from a Christian home and who also gave birth to his eldest son and daughter), we know so well as a compassionate man, one of our best in-laws that has even becomes a member of Osun State family. He has so mixed with us that he speaks Yoruba language fluently.

Atiku abhors religious intolerance and does not play politics with issues of human life as he has high regards for sanctity of life like any normal human being.

It's disheartening that some people have decided to capitalize on the issues of the suspected Herdsmen killings in Nigeria to blackmail our in-law, to score cheap political points.

Despite continually issuing statements to condemn any form of crises, including but not limited to suspected Herdsmen attacks, and the statements do go viral, those who choose not to hear or see the statements have decided to deliberately ignore them and play politics with issues of precious lives. Thus, they continue to condemn Atiku that he has never spoken against attacks in Nigeria.

And when you send his statements to some deliberate critics they will still fault it. Why do Nigerians play politics with issues as sensitive as precious lives? Rather than such politics of calumny why can't those people simply promote their own candidates just like Atiku's supporters nationwide are doing?

ATIKU'S PAST STATEMENTS

Atiku condemns killings, says Nigeria’s diversity, its strength.

Abuja, Nigeria, 03 January, 2018: Former Vice President of Nigeria and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has described as unacceptable the cycle of blood-letting that has led to the loss of precious lives across the country.

Atiku Abubakar made the charge against the backdrop of recent killings in Rivers, Kaduna, Benue and other parts of the country including the Wednesday early morning suicide bombing attack, at Gamboru Mosque in Borno, barely three days into the New Year.

The Waziri Adamawa, according to a statement by his media office in Abuja on Wednesday, said the killings in those states, and other senseless killings and reprisal blood-letting that has preceded them in the past across our country is ungodly, a throwback to the stone age, and a hindrance to the promotion of peace and unity in the country.

Atiku Abubakar stressed that the diversity of Nigeria remains one of its strongest points, reminding leaders of all persuasion and at all levels to ensure that they promote the things that unite us rather than those that create divisions.

“That the Almighty in His Wisdom made us a nation of different tongues and tribes; made us Africa’s most populous nation with more than 300 tribes is no accident. If well enhanced, our diversity should be our biggest strength.

“There cannot be development when innocent lives are being lost in a seeming endless cycle of attacks and reprisals. While we should hold every life as precious, it is more painful that the victims of these attacks are women and youths – the demography that we depend upon to drive development.”

Atiku Abubakar urged Nigerians to use the opportunity of the New Year to reflect on these needless killings and to resolve to live in peace and harmony.

He prays for fortitude to the bereaved families.

ANOTHER STATEMENT

Atiku condemns burning of Falae’s farm.

Former Vice President of Nigeria and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar condemns the burning of a farm belonging to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae.

Atiku Abubakar said in a press statement by his media office on Tuesday that arson is a punishable offence under the law and that when the crime is aimed at destroying a private investment, it adds the additional penalty of economic sabotage.

"It is a reprehensible act of economic sabotage to wilfully set ablaze any person's property and investments.

"As a statesman who has worked tirelessly for this country, Chief Falae deserves a quiet and peaceful retirement and not this lot that has been characterised by kidnapping and other vices including this arson".

Atiku Abubakar urges the police and other relevant security agencies in the country to launch an investigation into the crime and ensure that the culprits are brought to book to serve as deterrent.

Truth is he is a member of Meye ti Allah. We cannot afford to vote for him or Buhari. We need a non fulani that is not a member of Meye ti Allah. Any member of Meye ti Allah cannot be trusted at this critical time of our nationhood.
