Bayelsa State Governor, Honorable Henry Seriake Dickson has assured Bayelsans that the first airplane would land at the state's international airport by June, 2018.Governor Dickson affirmed that funds have been set aside already for the completion of the airport with a 3.5 kilometre runway.

He also said very soon, government expects the Chinese $6 billion investment in the Brass Fertilizer project which he noted would further boost the economy of the state.

The Governor, in a press statement signed by his Spokesman, Mr. Francis Otta Agbo gave the assurance on Tuesday while speaking at the Monthly Praise Night, in Yenagoa.

Governor Dickson said the airport project which was the brainchild of his administration has now been scheduled for completion by the second quarter of this year as the earlier date for completion (2019) is too late.

He expressed government's commitment to ensure prudent management of its finances towards focusing on the task of delivering the airport project, noting that there was still more work to be done particularly in the area of constructing a network of roads and bridges to open up the state.

His words:"There is still work to be done, there are still more roads to be built, we have to take the Sagbama Road to Ekeremor."

According to Governor Dickson, former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo will be in the state in the next two weeks to commission some of the state's first class medical investments to the world as well as the Bayelsa Health Service Programme for workers.

"Chief Olusegun Obasanjo will be visiting in the next two weeks to unveil our medical investments to the world."

"In a recession, we built a brand new university from nothing, you have the best health facilities. We have some of the best facilities in the world. We have the best health insurance system now in the country. The health insurance scheme is covering over 250,000 people."

Governor Dickson commended the clergy in the state for their dedication and selflessness, stating that the monthly Praise Night had been observed for six years consecutively.

The Governor, in his characteristic manner mounted the podium to sing praises to the most High God as he holds the conviction that praises moves God to action and brings down His blessings.

"In Bayelsa State, the Dickson Administration makes it a matter of State Policy to devote a Night of Praises to the Glory of the Most High God every month. Bayelsa is where God Himself eats His monthly meal of praises."

"As we continue to praise God, the soil of Bayelsa will yield forth all its promises, its posterity, including those that were hidden.” He told the congregation.

In his brief exhortation, the General Overseer of the Royal House of Grace, Apostle Zilley Aggrey, lauded Governor Dickson for his administration's developmental strides that have transformed the landscape of Bayelsa.

Apostle Aggrey who expressed conviction that Governor Dickson would complete his second term strong and well, said it was imperative to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far for the progress of the state.

He stressed the need to instil the fear of God in the individual who would take over the baton of leadership, pointing out that, power and authority only flow from God to enable his successor take the state to the next level.
