Lagos disburses over N5Bn to contractors, 181 roads construction ready for commencement

The Lagos State Government has disbursed N5.563 billion to contractors for construction of 181 roads spread across 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the State.

It said that with the fund, the roads would be constructed in phases and have one road each in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs, with assurance that the contractors would be moving to sites immediately.

The Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry, Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, stated the construction of the 181 council roads was in fulfillment of the promise by the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to open up more inner roads across the State following the successful delivery of the 114 roads in September 2016.
