A former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd), has opted for an out of court settlement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The retired Air Chief is being prosecuted for an alleged fraud of N22.8bn.

His trial continued on Monday before Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Counsel to the EFCC, Nnaemeka Omewa, informed the court that the defence team had met with the anti-graft agency for negotiation in which they proposed terms of settlement.

Counsel to Amosu, Bolaji Ayorinde, also confirmed the position and asked the court to grant the parties a short adjournment to enable them to conclude settlement talks and report back on the outcome.

After listening to the submissions of both parties, Justice Idris adjourned the matter till March 7 for a report of settlement, failing which trial would continue.

The Air Marshal is standing trial alongside Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun and Air Commodore Gbadebo Olugbenga, as well as eight other companies for an alleged N22.8bn fraud.

He had initially entered into a plea bargain with the EFCC, but later abandoned it, a move which prompted the anti-graft agency to commence trial against all the defendants.

And this is why they create "Fulani Herdsmen" around the country.

After looting, they deny with all vigour until they are either stretchered to court or completely checkmated by the Law.

Please EFCC investigation or investigate other Hausa generals too please abeg. It looks like a one way investigashion oh. Tell or ask general Usani how he got his own millions it is not difficult.
We need to go back to as far as 1990 contracts. How on earth could Cameroon and Niger have modern military target and we can't boost of any.
The Nigerian military that we have this days buy useless combat planes including the toy planes we have just received from the US of A' s.

How come it is only Nigerian military that doesn't understand the word innovation. I'm no military expect but I know that the equipment the air force are importing can be made here in Kaduna. The world is not investing in planes flown by humans anymore but drowns. We are supposed to be investing in education and our engineers need to be trained. This is what the US of A does all the time.
We have capable engineers we just need to be creative and think well.

Back to the point, we need to find out how funds in the military were been mismanaged and stop it from happening again by blocking the loopholes.
However, everybody who has abused our defence contracts should be prosecuted no matter the year it happened the religion and background of such person. Some of them are emirs and imams, senators ministers, governors, we know them, they are still silently killing this union I hopefully they return the loot.

They should prosecute all corrupt Christians. Thank God I am also a christian. Corruption has no place in Christianity and any corrupt person claimed to be a christian is a liar.
