There was a drama in a Brazilian derby that birth series of punches and blows between Vitoria and Bahia as 9 players – six from the Victoria – were sent off, forcing the derby to be abandoned with 11 minutes left on the clock.

Denilson breaks the deadlock for the home side following 33 minutes but Vinicius leveled with a penalty four minutes into the second half. He celebrated with a provocative dance in front the home fans, which prompted anger from Victoria players.
