The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three suspects in connection with the killings in Birane village in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The suspects are: Halilu Garba, 45, alias Mabushi, Zubairu Marafa, 45, alias Wakili and Nafi’u Badamasi, 40, alias Zakiru.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that bandits, suspected to be cattle rustlers, had on February 14 killed 18 persons in Birane village.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris had deployed additional three units of Police Mobile Force, PMF, to the area.
