Elections Reorder Undermines INEC’s Independence – Jega by Newsbreakers: 5:07pm On Feb 22, 2018
The immediate past Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has questioned the power of the National Assembly to alter the sequence of the 2019 elections.

Jega made his position known at an event organised by the Youth Initiative for Advocacy Growth and Development in Abuja on Thursday.

Speaking at the event with the theme, ‘Is Nigeria’s Democracy Under Threat?’ Jega said the National Assembly’s action undermined the independence of INEC.

He added that several sections of the 1999 Constitution clearly state that the power to organise and set the date for elections remain the exclusive preserve of INEC.

The former INEC boss also stated that the cost of election would be higher if the National Assembly succeeds in changing the election sequence.

You have finally found your voice but didn't remember this when you presided over an election where under age voting and falsified results from the North were part of the problem then

Forming elder Statesman, keep deceiving yourself, after you registered millions of amajiri(underage) just to return power to north.2019 is pregnant, with many surprises, have never voted, but 2019 is a must B2D!.

This guy must be a demon with the innocent look. Terrible being who perfected the art of rigging for APC in the last Presidential Elections. Jega wrote the results for Buhari, useless man forming analyst on election matters. The blood of the slain Kano's Returning Officer together with his wife and children who faulted the outcome of the results from Kano shall perpetually be on the neck of this useless snake. Senate should stand their ground on that matter.

Where you in River state during the election? do you know that the opposition in River state is the Highest in Nigeria? sometimes we youth talk before we think. Can you compare what happened in Rivers to what happened in Kano? Under age voting happened under Jega, so he has no right to talk, he should hide his face!
