The second of two girls, some had hoped for the arrival of a male child upon her parents' "We're Expecting" announcement. Named by her grandfather to express gratitude for her birth, Omono's sex and gender are only but the first of many surprises this young talent has brought to the world's stage. Born in Lagos, Nigeria to two journalists, Omono was exposed to a rich culture of the arts at a very young age. Perhaps fueled by her parents' profession, one of her earliest aspirations was to be a writer. So confident in her talents, at age eight she boldly proclaimed school a useless hurdle for her ambitions.

Much to her parents' joy, she did not turn out a primary school dropout and instead found passion both on page and on the stage. Heavily involved in theatre and dance productions, this fervor has remained as she crossed the Atlantic to Los Angeles, CA where she now resides. Her stage experienced gathered, translates beautifully to the screen where she is known to bring a youthful glow and a grounded presence that transcends audiences. Anchored by a dimple on each cheek, Omono has a smile to lighten up a room, and pairs this with a fun, quick-witted charm

I disagree.

There are few talented actors and actresses in Nollywood

Maybe u should check behind the scenes of that movie and learn what is called acting... Am sure u will find it hard to believe the behind the scenes.... Yea, that's how acting is, nt crying and shouting, and walking and making love

There are ACTORS and ACTRESSES in Nollywood that will beat Hollywood Actors, that's my point.

We have good actors here.

Our actors are overrated abeg. Our movies are poor. even the so called wedding party is lacking in content, story and creativity. Nollywood is a serious mess.

I concur. That wedding party is just a waste of time i swear. Sola Sobowale was just shouting upandan which confirms what Bisi said up there

I wonder why failures think they have an opinion.
for starters...

I'm not homophobic and definitely would never Judge a man based on his illnesses or sexuality. I think I've indeed achieved way more than you and the entire Nollywood put together.

No Nigeria Actor/Actress Is Good Enough To Feature In The Movie "Black Panther" - Gay Activist, Bisi Alimi

The Nigeria HIV positive LGBT activist, Ashiwaju Bisi Alimi have blasted Nigerian actors and actresses as well as Nigerians citizens for saying why won't there be a Nigeria actor in the latest movie "Black Panther" which clearly speaks about Africans.

Bisi Alimi said and I quote "The idea that their should have been a Nigerians actor in Black Panther is ludicrous. I am going to say this, as a matter of fact, there is no actor (male or female) in Nigeria that can act at such quality.

Black Panther was not about "screaming and shouting", it was about "acting" and those are not the same thing. And don't get me started at Nnaji (Genevieve Nnaji), she cannot act.

According to him;

Te industry can be better, but they also need to know and accept they are rubbish at the moment and then go for training, I mean like quality training. In a country that gave us Nollywood to think we don’t have a specialist drama school? It’s sad.

Do you agree?

Why are people so fúcking Shortsighted?
Your Nollywood is diluted Horsepóóp, he's not saying anything Ridiculous or inauthentic. Your 'Nnnayi' 'igwe' Nollywood would always be a failed and highly mediocre attempt at making Movies. He is right. Nollywood is plainly 50BC Hollywood.
Apt!

Lol..forget about Genevieve.

There are stuntsmen for those who cannot do too much physical stunts.

Remember that Nollywood encompasses Yoruba, Hausa and all actors, famous or not. Also remember we have older actors. I watch foreign and Nigerian movies and can beat my chest and say we have actors who will fit into Hollywood.

D way black people are taking this black panther film i wonder what they would have done if d Jesus character in passion of Christ was black? Now we are abusing ourselves over a film that Spike Lee and co (white men) have cashed out. Some people were even wearing native in US just to watch the film. Black people can be easily manipulated by tribe or race. Negroes need mental emancipation.

Who are the stunt men? Am yet to see any... In this part of the world, the producers and the directors, are everything, from being the stunt man, to the Co ordinator, to continuity, budget management, just to mention a few. In oda words, stunt is a specialised field and am yet to see any Nigeria who does it, if they do, we will be seeing if already in our movies

People! Attack the message not the messenger!

1. Can Genevieve really act to make the cut? When last(did she ever) did she act a movie with that 'WoW' effect?
2. Do our actors/actresses really scream and shout when acting?
3. How many of our actresses would have made it to the role of female warriors with their shape?
4. How many would make the dark skinned female warriors role with their over bleached skins?
5. As popular as Nollywood is, how much 'quality' are the movies being churned out every day. E.g Wedding party is a wack movie despite the hype. Let's not even get started on the silly and boring royal movies.

Great point. Give Genevieve a 'big girl's role and she can act. Give her another role asides...she won't even dust the manuscript. Babe knows her time is over hence the shift to directing. The only person IMO who would have been versatile has let her horrible lifestyle and attitude affect her career. The Nnaji girl is overhyped and overhyped is never understood.

Spike Lee is a black American movie director.
You wanted to sound intelligent but you ended up sounding dumb
Why can't black people dress up like the characters in black panther?
Don't white people dress up like star wars, batman, superman, iron man,Thor, captain america, star trek etc characters to also watch those movies?
Do you use Facebook?or maybe whatsapp?

There are ways of punishing a student instead of beating him and inflicting injury upon the poor boy. The parents should take the teacher to court. That's my contribution.

The truth is bitter but he has a 'valid' point, our actors and actresses are used to 'short term acting commitments' where you pay them 'peanuts', give them scripts and in two to three days they move to location and in another 7-9 days the project is over and they move to the next movie. Hollywood is a different ball game, some actors even take years to get into character, both physically and mentally......... angry
That’s true cos Killmonger worked on his beards and muscles and it tks months to even be good at speaking in Wakanda. That’s not easy o.
