Rights Group Blast Transparency International Over Anti-corruption Report by Abel7777: 9:04pm On Feb 26, 2018
International Human Rights Group, Global Peace Movement International(UK), has come out to challenge Transparency International over the recently released global anti- corruption index released by the group.

GPMI(UK), said the released corruption perception index by Transparency International was very wrong, inaccurate, out of tandem with current realities and does not represent facts.

According to Global Peace Movement International, it has become a pattern for Transparency International and its co traveler in falsehood; Amnesty International, to always try to rubbish the work and commitments of Nigeria’s active anti- corruption and security agencies whenever progress was being made
.
President General of GPMI(UK), Dr Mike Uyi, in a strongly worded statement issued from London on Monday, and made available to journalists in Nigeria and London, said, the position of Transparency International on the war against corruption in Nigeria was yet another scheme meant to becloud Nigeria’s glory and downplay the great work the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) was doing.

The Global Peace Movement International President wondered how Transparency International arrived at its anti-corruption perception index, just when few weeks ago, 52 nations in the African Union recognized and gave Nigeria an award in its anti-corruption campaign.

Describing the report as an international conspiracy to weaken EFCC’s fight in the campaign against anti-corruption, Dr Uyi said Nigeria cannot bow to international conspiracy and what he said was the theory of unknown ratification.

According to Dr Uyi, “EFCC is the number one anti-corruption agency in Africa, and the 11thBest Anti-Corruption agency in the world. There is no gang up or conspiracy in the world that can stop or erase that reality”, the global peace movement international president said.

Challenging Transparency International to come forward with empirical evidences on how they arrived at their conclusions on Nigeria, Dr Mike Uyi revealed that GPMI(UK) will be holding a world press conference in London and Nigeria in order to present the true anti-corruption index on Nigeria to the world, adding the fight to eliminate corruption is not peculiar to Nigeria alone.
