Greetings to you all. I work with a reputable insurance company and I am married with two kids ( ages 3 and 10mths) .in preparation for my interview, I surfed the Internet like no other every blessed day for information because information they say leads to transformation.i checked nairaland, immi and visajourney.
On this said date,my interview was scheduled for 9:30am and we got their 7:30am. We started the verification on the queue till we got to the interview hall. Immediately I entered the hall I sighted the security camera and I started playing with my first daughter while on the queue and this attracted a whole lot of people seeing the bond between my daughter, family and I. After the scanning and verification we were directed to no 3 a female and my interview went thus:

Myself: Good morning
Vo: no response
Vo: can I have your docs
Myself: yes please,( I gave her the four passport)
Vo: where are you travelling to?
Myself: I am travelling to the United state of America, florida to be precise and I am going to visit x and X places:
Vo :ok...tell me about where you work?
Myself: I work with X company as a sales executive, head of this and that
Vo: have you travelled outside nigeria?
Myself: NO
Vo: "turns to my wife"..Madam what do you do?
My wife: I am a trader and I supply x and x to retailers and consumers
Vo: do you have anybody in the USA
Myself: NO
Vo:has anyone travel between yourself and your wife?
Myself: Yes,my wife, she travelled ten years ago to the UK ( although she was a minor when she travelled with her mother to UK and she is not a citizen)
Vo: your visa has been approved!
Myself: thank you!!
She gave me a paper indicating where to pick my visa and she held on to our passports.

Points to Note:

(1) I carried my first daughter in my arms all through the interview. I never allowed her to stand on her feet cos this shows you love your family and my wife also carried the second one in her arms.
(2) no documents was requested cos they have limited time
(3) they did not request for my wife's old passport she used in travelling to UK When she was a minor
(4) during the questioning my daughter was distracting me calling me "daddy daddy" and she was also reading her one, two, three numerals and this was an indication that she is my daughter and she goes to school cos she was on her school uniform
(5) above all, NA God's favour o

Thank you Nairalanders for reading through.

Good day. I and husband applied for non immigrant visa. A lady attended to us. She asked for purpose of visit to the us: we told her vacation. Where are you going in the US: Houston, Texas. Have you traveled before: No. How long are we staying: 2weeks. Where do we work, said it and the actual salary. Do we have a child: No we got married last december.  Do you have anyone in the US: No. She didn't ask for any document. She said sorry, you are ineligible for a non immigrant visa under section 214(b). Please what are the chances if I reapply? We really wish to visit us. We were not able do our honey moon last year due to our job. But now that we have been granted leave, we just want to take the opportunity to visit US. Please can you enlighten me more? And what are the chances. Thanks. Looking forward for a prompt response.

v.o have you travel outside the country b4 ? yes south africa 2 times and dubai once and other africa counrty like ghana etc
v.o what do you do ? i told him i am into agricultural commodities i am the managing director of my company..

the next thing i saw was a blue paper that he is sorry i do not qualify for the visa bco i could not demonstrate that i have a strong tie in my country.. like professional work school family or social link..

It goes this way
VO: Good morning sir
Myself: Good morning sir
VO: where are you going.
Myself: Bleep, Bleep
VO: why are you going ?
Myself: I'm going for the AD KING youth empowerment program
VO: are you married ?

VO: do you have kids ?
Myself: yes. I have 2 kids
VO: what do you do.
Myself: I own a computer store
VO: Do you own it yourself or you work there ?
Myself: I own it myself
VO: what countries have you been to?
This is where I made my mistake. I said Togo, Ghana and Benin
Where as on my DS-160. I put Kenya Ghana and Benin and that's where I made the mistake
And he asked me to reapply.

Now this my question. Apart from what I observe is there anything have got wrong

Secondly. I'm willing to reapply asap
How long do I have to wait to reapply.
Thirdly I'm thinking of reapplying with my wife and kids. My kids are 3yrs 6 months. I want to know. Reapplying with my wife and kids. Does this give me more chance of getting the visa. Please advice. Thanks

Hi guys, I have an interview at the US embassy on 5th Dec. I'm going for tourism and do some shoppoing for my son's forthcoming birthday. I plan to travel 27th of Dec and be back on 7th of Jan because of my biz. I own a company and also married but my wife won't be able to go with me because of her job as she resumes few days into the new year. Now, my problem is, I have all the documents ready including statement of accounts of my company and personal, I have my company's certificate as well but I have never paid tax on it because the company is 17months old and the FIRS gives 18 months free on New company. I called the guys at the tax office and they said the tax payment will be in Jan. So how do i explain this to the vo that I have never paid tax on my company hence I don't have tax clearance Cert? Pls help guys and thanks.

@Godson201333, your issue is complex. Why?
You said you just came back from UK and in forth-day you applying to visit the USA for 2 weeks vacation. Does that mean, you're touring round countries while you should be at work? Now, you seeking for 2 weeks off-work like you said while you just arrived from UK. Your consular might have assumed that you've spent your vacation in UK and if you travel to USA, you might not come back since you don't have anything tieing-you down here in Nigeria (like Marriage).

Basically you're meant to use hotel reservation even if you have your aunty's invitation but it should be for backup (if need may arise, that is, if you were asked) after tendering your hotel reservation as your point of traveling.

I think you summed it up already, just came back from UK and within days you are planing to fly again, your work status should be your tie to NIgeria and you aren't married to prove otherwise. Even if you reaplly next time you might not be given until you prove yourself you actually work and not touring.

I think they love family tiers! I applied as a family man(married with kids) for B1/B2, no travelling experience going for a conference as security expact(it makes them think you have reason to come back). With a lot of prayers in Jesus name, surprisingly I was given. So pls in my own opinion you can attach with mum.

Hello House, please i need your advice. i will be having an interview soon at the us embassy and my purpose of travel is to do a surgery which is not usually done in Nigeria, however my elder brother in the US is the one paying for it. My question is this, is it okay to tell the VO during interview that my elder brother in the US is the one paying for the surgery or is it not advisable? will it sound somehow? or jeopardize my chances? Secondly, Please if anyone has been interviewed for a medical treatment or surgery, please do help me post the transcript/details and the documents i need to present to the VO. I will appreciate all your advice.
Re: Likely Questions By Usa Consular During Interview For Tourist Visa And Response by engraro: 3:44pm On Jan 21, 2018
My b1/b2 visa and my family was denied. The reason was that I was misled by a travelling agent who told me never to mention all I wrote on the application form "ds160". I would reapply alone in order to be at a safer side money wise. My overall advice is that mention all you put on application form " ds160".

Discuss your intention with your brother and let him send you invitation letter and search Google for the hospital you wish to do the surgery, then call then to inform them about your intention too. US visa is a not must to get it at one attempt.

Hello Friends and family, How are you guys? please i humbly need your urgent reply.

Due to Last year Lockdown, I overstayed in the US uptill 9months. form February 18th 2020 to November 20th 2020

I traveled to US on the 18/02/2020 and was suppose to return back to Lagos, Nigeria 31st of March 2020, due to the Airport closure that started 20/03/2020 in Nigeria my flight was cancelled. but i quickly filed for an Extension in the US and i have been issued with a receipt by the USCIS FORM I-797C (Notice of Action for Extension).

This would by my 4th time Visit in the US, I have never overstayed my visit except this very last one as mentioned above that was
caused by the global Covid 19 Pandemic lockdown and ENDSARS protest in Nigeria.

Now I'm about to renew my B1/B2 Visa again, i hope i'm good to go?.

Please your reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
