The so called "newly found oil wealth" was in the Eastern Region. There was no 'SS' back then and the 'Niger Delta' of then was mainly present day Bayelsa.

But the main thing is that back then, there 50% derivation resourse control plus another percentage for general and national.

Today, the so called 'SS' are getting 13% derivation. So if the SS were getting 50% in the old Eastern Region that later became Biafra, but today get 13% in Nigeria, who lost out?

The SS lost out big time
You said 50% percent was given to who in the Igbo dominated eastern region, be careful let curses not rain on your flat head

Respect! God bless you brother.
We don't want to be part of this nation, a nation that prefers the life of a cow to that of human. I'm happy because this nation is packing up, with the world switching over to cleaner energy, crude oil is becoming irrelevant.

They wish we all perish, instead of hard work.

The SS has not enjoyed the level of development it saw under Michael Okpara in the Eastern Region. Since then it has been downhill for them

1) The massacre of over 50,000 easterners, men, women and children all over Nigeria, mainly in the North in 1966.

2) The breaking of the Aburi agreement by the Nothern backed government of Gowon.

3) The above two reasons was enough for Igbos to seek independence as Biafrans as well as the refusal of Igbos and Ojukwu to accept Northern domination without a fight, unlike Yorubas and Awolowo who were only too glad to accept Northern domination in other to avoid war in their land

Liar!!

The Igbos dominate the military, and other areas in government, even in the North, yet they are not satisfied, they want more, that's y they stage the 1966 coup, killed leaders from other tribes, except theirs.....

They didn't stop at that, they were even jubilating in the street of North, this provoked the Northerners, and hence attack them.

The Northern soldiers, however staged a counter coup. And avenged the death of their leaders.

Ojukwu, greedy for power took advantage of the situation, and declare Biafra, even though he knew the consequences.....

This is the Lagos/Ibadan expressway media narrative which is false.

But even if it were all true, it still didnt answer the question of why Igbos opted for Biafra. Igbos wanted Biafra because of the failure of Gowons government to tmplement the Aburi agreement signed in Ghana and because of the massacre of Igbos nationwide in 1966. Nobody will choose to remain part of a country where they are massacred.

Only South East and South South foresaw the failure of Nigeria as a country... So they decided to be on their own hence their agitation for Biafra even until this day.

A country where people kill and proudly claim it like any terrorist organisation would, but the authorities won't arrest them because they are their people.. I mean the Fulani people...

A country build on hate and deception. A country built on division and lies. A country built for exploitation by the British and other world powers.

BIAFRA saw the failure and wanted their own separate country where the tradition/culture is 80% similar.

In Biafra Africa died

Am sure you are from the Niger Delta thats why you sound like this.

In case you dont know, Garden City(Port harcourt) city plan and outline was drawn up and implemented by Michael Okpara, how many more PHCs and cities would have been setup in an independent Eastern region?

The choice to go with the east was never a lesser evil but a form of good which many myopic eastern minorities couldnt see because of fear of dominance.

Well i keep telling them till today that now they are being bleeped from both sides, northerners own your oil wells, yorubas dominate your oil industry and igbos dominate their markets and environs . What do they get in return?

How did they hate Igbo? This is a Man that practically raised Nzeogwu, before he discover the Igbo dominitary tendencies.

The Man simply say the truth, while the Igbos were heading top positions even in the North, how many Northerners enjoys the same privilege?

Give an Igbo an inch, and he will take a Mile, is that not what they are still doing now? Claiming Lagos as no man's land?

Even as we speak, Igbos are given appointments in other states, Lagos, Kaduna etc, how many Igbo states replicate the same gesture?

The last time a postal of a northerner Contesting for a position in Ebonyi goes round, we all know how the Igbos were cursing, and insulting all over the web....

The igbos were not holding top positions in the north young man, the igbos held positions that required advanced education or skill which many northerners lacked at the time. Even today 2018, how many northerners in percentages can boast of proper tertiary education then imagine 1960. If the northern regional government needed technocrats then it was clear that they could get them from the south, which southerners were the most travelled and readily available for those jobs?

As it stands, the only state that has given an igbo man a govt appointment is Kaduna state which am not so sure of now. Please tell me where igbos are given appointments as state commisioners.

And as for your statement of give igbo an inch and he will take a mile only shows how backward you think.

Any business man that progresses must move from occupying an inch to a mile. If i have the freedom to live and do business in my country then dont complain that am taking a mile that am totally paying for. Is the igbo man forcing people out of their farmlands and slaughtering them, is the igbo man not paying for the land and shops he uses ?

You people will die of envy and will blame everything except your own laziness. How can somebody come from a region over 500 miles away, see a business opportunity in your backyard and become a millionaire in a decade and the only thing you do is to say he wants to dominate you.
Why are you pointing one finger at somebody when four are pointing back at you.

If you claim an igbo man living in your community peacefully who has never forced you out of your land is trying to dominate you then your worst enemy is not that igbo man but your LAZINESS and MYOPIA.

Nigeria is one country now, since 1970 we have been one country All human beings have the right to live and do business everywhere as long as they respect the state and federal laws governing that part of the country. All opportunities are open for everyone to enjoy and invest in. If someone is progressing in your own enclave while following the laws then look in the mirror my friend and stop complaining.
