A national leader of the ruling APC, Ashiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has re-instated his commitment to work with and trust in the leadership of president Buhari, to change Nigeria and take the teeming citizenry out of poverty.

An obviously very elated Tinubu ,who had hitherto come with a prepared speech, at the colloquium organized in his honour, to celebrate his 66th birthday, had to abandon the latter, for an impromptu one, after being convinced of the efforts and evidence of the Buhari led government, to emancipate Nigeria, especially after the inspiring speeches of the president and that of his vice, Yemi Oshinbajo, coupled with demonstrations and testimonies of some N-power beneficiaries, present at the event.

According to him, ’’APC did not come with sugar and honey, our logo is broom, together we stand in the battle to rescue Nigeria. We came on a tripod of Security, fighting corruption and to improve the economy. There are bound to be challenges, but that cannot be compared with the high level of misrule and corruption of previous PDP government. For 16 years, they looted, and we shall continue to talk about it. Not talking about it is like telling us they have looted and we should do our own looting .Fellow Nigerians, do not listen to them, neither should you accept their apology. Forget it, they are not coming back.’’

He also indirectly referred to the ‘letter writers’, especially Obasanjo, describing them as ‘’bad belle and political writers’’. According to him, they are writing letters, as if they were never there before. Tinubu then indicated that APC shall be coming back to Nigerians, to explain things and the challenges being faced, renew the mandate ,trust and promise , to change Nigeria.

Also in his presentation, the vice president, Yemi Oshinbajo , reiterated that the APC led government is achieving more with less resources, compared to the PDP earlier government. He accused the previous government of financial recklessness .According to him; the APC government has achieved so much in terms of financial management and prudency, aided by the successful implementation of the TSA policy.

Oshinbajo compared the prevailing economic environment with that of the PDP government, indicating that when oil price hovered over $100, for 16years and Nigeria had a lot to spend, the PDP government filtered away our resources, but with the Buhari government, when oil price has crashed to its lowest level, financial resources are being judiciously expended to improve the lot of the people. Over N1.7trillion naira was released in 2017,to fund capital expenditure, the highest in the history of the country, despite lowest ebb of revenue. More money is available despite lower revenue inflow, because we are not stealing, compared to previous government.
