The original STAR BOY is MAVADO from Jamaica

MAVADO has been called Star boy before anybody knew Wizkid in Nigeria or even before Bank W signed Wizkid

Both the WEEKEND and Wizkid are impostors

His lawyers should have know this was coming since he getting bigger from doing a collabo with Drake. If his lawyers haven't filed a trademark for starboy by now, he should just fire them and get better lawyers tgat can handle this case

Where did you read that Wizkid is trademarking Starboy? angry

Dumb blogger! angry

Wait o... This guy is so dumb that he doesn't know that going by his argument, he's losing to at least Wizkid! angry

He should Google Starboy Entertainment! angry

It doesn't work that way in the western court system. See even if he used that name for ten years but didn't trademark and this guy trademarked the name stsrboy just yesterday, he can bar wizkid from using that name because the person that owns the trademark had the LEGAL right to use it. Trust this situation happened to the giant company Amazon but Amazon had pay off the other party to use the name Amazon

We are quick to attack like hounds. The topic doesn't have any relationship with its content (null hypothesis).
These bloggers will lead you to hell if you keep following their catchy thread names.

You can choose a business name, but the man who registers/ trademarks it with the government because the bonafide owner before the law.

So because The Weeknd is a bigger artist in the USA,he should get everything he wants.

WizKid has a record label registered as StarBoy Entertainment and he has been calling himself StarBoy for more than 4 years now. Other than the Weeknd releasing a track called StarBoy in 2016 and calling himself StarBoy since then, what other claim does he have to the StarBoy name?

From a legal context who ever trademarks the name starboy first legally owns the name no matter when u started using it. Wizkid should fire his later if they didn't k ow this simple fact. This case can cost wizkid Mullins if dollar to resolve if he really wants to keep the name stsrboy. E no be small case oh!

He's mad ni

Michael Jackson lost in court and had to pay a huge settlement when it was found that he stole the phrase "mama say mama saw mama cumsa". This guy'll just be shooting himself in the foot.

This is a different case. I don't think u understand the legal context of trademark issue in this case

I just love the weeknd and his lyrics. Dude is so talented! His recent EP "Melancholy" esp "Call out my name" is bomb
He is the only starboy any other is counterfeit, the naija druggie impostor should take note grin
That you love weekend or whatever you call him does not guarantee him the ownership of the trademark, and besides I never heard of the name "weekend" until he decided to use the STARBOSS to come relevant on the scene. BTW does the word "weekend" sounds like a person's name to you? You better keepOFF.

It's not about who used it first, it's about who registered it first.
