@All, This FTA is not free O! after all the buy buy. Na wao. For many of us it looks like it is difficult to draw the line. I dey hail O! |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by Ameboperoo(m): 7:16pm On Jul 17, 2010 |
Even if you queue up to pay every month, wouldn't you still buy? To collect rain water, you need bucket and good roof. You may even need to buy a tank. Rain water though is free and the purest. So is FTA! |

@badaru1. Truly the spiderbox is the dream machine. The question now is what happens at the expiration of one year. Does the receiver have trusted and reliable support just like strong? |

@ALL, I want to know if srt4910 HD receiver has more advantages over other HD receivers? I went to buy from an accredited strong dealer in kaduna but i was referred to the Abj office,i called to make my order only to be told that it will cost me 42.4k.well i'm willing to buy bt i need to knw if its worth it. May be all the gurus may educate me more on other functions/advantages apart from its mpeg4 & HD capabilities i read from their website. |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by Adeexy: 4:21pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
@Life 707 It depends on what you want to do with your HD Receiver, am very sure if you read this thread from the beginning you will get answers. |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by badaru1(m): 5:25pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
@life707 Strong srt 4910 is a class of it own,it has both digital and terrestrial turners. That means u can use it both as digital and terrestrial receiver. It can also do cardsharing both sky and internet sharing. |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by life707: 11:47pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
@ Badaru, Thanks abt the info on card sharing & internet stuff. I think i'll go 4 it since the readily available keys for Digi tv {Nagra2} wch shows EPL has been hit today with the change of encryption to Nagra3. So card sharing may well suffice . |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by obnelly: 10:37am On Aug 08, 2010 |
are u getting digi tv?where is your location and what is your dish size? |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by life707: 11:48pm On Aug 08, 2010 |
obnelly: YES, but not ALL the freqs. (Most stable is 12718V18410 53% ON SRT4653X,12607h27500 reaches 51% by 6pm,other spot 3 beam freqs. crack badly at 47%) i stay in Ikara outskirt of zaria very close to kano. I'm using an abandoned old solid dish (2.6M) NB:TRIED BULSATCOM 39E & TURKSAT 42E TO NO AVAIL. |

Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by olofofo(m): 6:17pm On Aug 19, 2010 |
nice one micro, but i thought for an enthusiast like yourself a dm800 would have been a better choice? what informed your decision to get the opticum? i got myself a brand new dm800 for about about a week now and it's been fun just laying around with it. no other decoder gives you that much freedom.i have the opticum 9500 HD with all the same features and it's been WAEC trying to get it to work for card sharing. |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by microgint: 3:01pm On Aug 21, 2010 |
Oga Olofofo, I just wanted HD combo stb that can do cardsharing at the same time. |

@all Fellow Niaralanders, i do appreciate all your efforts cos you guys are doing us NOVICE out here a lot of GOOD. Please, with all these talk about OPTICUM, SPIDERBOX, STRONG 4900/4910, DREAMBOX and TOPFIELD. Can you please narrow down your recommendation based on ONE/TWO IMPORTANT THING thats COMMON to us ALL, i mean FTA. If that is so, kindly recommend a GOOD, NICE HD STB that is good for FTA viz-a-viz BLINDSCAN, EXCELLENT ZAPPING SPEED, AVAILABILITY OF PATCHES/SOFTWARES and PRICE. Reason for the above is that AM DESIROUS of having an HD Decoder and it will also do other novice like me out there a lot of good if we keep it SIMPLE. Thanks. |
Re: High Definition Receivers(hd) by microgint: 5:04pm On Aug 21, 2010 |
Go for Strong 4900/4910 it is readily available and very good for FTA. 4900 - satellite tuner only 4910 - satellite and terrestrial tuner (i.e. If you have this STB and startimes allow their cards to be used with another STB apart from their own then you make use of only one box instead of one for satellite and another for terrestrial) |

microgi@nt: Thanks Bro, but what is the cost of a brand new SRT4900/4910? Also, what is the price of your Opticum 9600 and how can i get 1 cos am about to go for the 9500? (Pls confirm the BLINDSCAN again) but am much interested in the 9600. Am staying at Abeokuta. Early response will be highly appreciated. Thanks |
