My fellow patriots,
As the presidential elections draw nigh, it’s time we use our power as electorates to send Mr Body Odour and Bad Luck back to his cows in Daura, come 2019. We’ve had enough. We thought he was the saviour that’d come and save us from the woes of the corruption-ridden Jonathan government. We thought Buhari was the messiah that’d come and make things right and oh, did he fool us with his promises. Little did we know that the woes we experienced in the last dispensation was innocuous, compared to what we go through now. Little did we know that indeed, the devil we knew was miles better than the angel that we didn’t know.
I won’t go on to list what Buhari didn’t do right or how he failed woefully to execute his brightly painted promises to us. I’ve come to appeal to your sense of reasoning to do the right thing to put this country on the path of greatness.
This is not a thread to support or condemn any political party because as far as I’m concerned, they are all filled with evil, avaricious old men who seek nothing but their greedy benefits. This is a thread to make you all realise the innate power you have to create a colossal change. We have the power to do and undo in this country but it’s sad that we are oblivious of this fact. If every eligible voter would get their Personal Voter’s card and vote out this lethargic, irresponsible and uncharitable government, that would be a huge step to putting this country on the right path again. The battle is us against them, no matter how much they try to rig to influence the elections in their favour, their efforts would be useless if we as a country stand up in unity to work towards a common goal. We are the bulk, the 99%, the aggrieved masses, the ones who ultimately have the power to do and undo.
With this realization, let’s all work together and do the right thing. The same passion and zeal we once had for Buhari when we erroneously thought he was out messiah, let’s double that passion and zeal and send the old, ailing man back to his hometown in Daura to take care of his cows. At this point, that’s the only job he is capable of handling.
Dear Nigerians, we might have made a mistake in the past but we have a chance to make amends . Let us not take this for granted or develop a lackadaisical attitude towards the affairs of this country. We might think Nigeria is too far gone for redemption but the truth is that the power lies in us. The power to put a competent and sensible leader in power. A servant-leader who truly has the affairs of the people at heart and not one with autocratic tendencies who sees himself as the lord of all.
Dear Nigerians, we can do better than this. We must never give up in the quest of making Nigeria great again. We are going to keep on trying till we get it right. We cannot give up on our own country. We must use our power to make things right.
Brothers and sisters from the north, west, south and east, it’s high time we unite and look beyond foolish political, ethnic and religious sentiments and make the right decisions.
It’s time to make Nigeria great again. But to do this, we must start by sending Buhari back to his village.
